Obituary For Joseph Earl Heard

Funeral service for Mr. Joseph Earl Heard of Anniston, 56, will be 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 11, 2021, at Terry's Mortuary Chapel. Bishop Shawn Phillips will deliver the eulogy. Mr. Heard will be laid to rest in the New Hope Church Cemetery in Barfield. Visitation will be 2-7 p.m. on Tuesday, August 10, 2021, at the funeral home.

On December 4, 1964, in Wedowee, Alabama, Curtis M. Heard and Rosetta S. Heard welcomed a son to their family. He was give the name Joseph Earl Heard.

Mr. Heard recognized the saving grace of Jesus Christ and chose to follow his ministry under the leadership of The Rock Jesus Church. He was a graduate of Lineville High School. Joseph was employed for over 20 years with Tyson Foods in Ashland, Alabama. In this spare time, Joseph found joy in reading the bible, detailing cars, visiting people and was a big Alabama fan and enjoyed watching football.

On Friday, August 6, 2021, Mr. Heard left his earthly home to begin his eternal life. He was preceded in passing by his parents, Curtis and Rosetta Heard.

Cherished memories will remain in the hearts his five sisters, Minister Melinda (Michael) Chappell of Ashland, Alabama, Minister Baretta (Patrick) Swain of Talladega, Alabama, Samantha (Michael) Turman of Lineville, Alabama, Donna Heard and Dianna Heard of Ashland, Alabama; five brothers, Minister Curtis Heard, Jr. of Anniston, Alabama, Minister Danny (Chineka) Heard of Lineville, Alabama, Whona Heard of Barfield, Alabama, Pervis (Charlotte) Heard of Alexandria, Alabama and Minister Mark (Lawanda) Heard of Millerville, Alabama; three special daughters that he cared for as if they were his own, Tan (Jeffery) Ackles-Fitch, Romanda Webb and Kierra Ford; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
