Obituary For Audrey Davis Garrett

A celebration of life for Mrs. Audrey Davis Garrett of Talladega, 66, will be 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 13, 2021, at Terry's Mortuary Chapel. Dr. Darius J. Williams will deliver the eulogy. Attendance will be limited. Interment will be in Pine Hill Memorial Park. Visitation will be 2-7 p.m. on Friday, February 12, 2021, at the funeral home.

Audrey Davis Garret was the youngest of five children born to the union of Joe Davis and Florine Prather Davis in Talladega, Alabama on August 13, 1954.

Mrs. Garrett confessed Christ at an early age and joined Greater Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church where she served as a faithful choir member. She was educated in Talladega City Schools were she completed her education at Westside High School.

Audrey enjoyed sharing a word of wisdom with her family and friends whether you were willing to hear it or not, never wavered from the truth. She kept it “real” and could always reference the word of God. Audrey was a loving and supportive wife, mother, grandmother, aunt cousin and friend to many. She gave her all to her family and friends with a willing and loving spirit that could only come from her love for Christ.

On December 31, 1997, Audrey and Kirk Garrett were united in holy matrimony.

On Friday, February 5, 2021, Audrey, a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, cousin and friend, transitioned this life to her Heavenly home to be with the Lord. Audrey was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Florine Prather Davis; a brother, Eddie Davis; two sisters, Jeanette Twyman and Mattie A. Chatman; and one daughter, Lakresha Turner.

She leaves to cherish her loving memories: her loving and devoted husband, Kirk Garrett of Talladega, Alabama; a daughter, Cenetta (Bossie D. ) Twyman of Talladega, Alabama; a son, Anthony (Lisa) Johnson, Jr. of Troy, Alabama; a son-in-law, Carlton Turner of Talladega, Alabama; a brother, William L. Davis of Lexington, Kentucky; nine grandchildren, Rytavious Chatman, Ryshawn Chatman, Tyler Twyman, Tory Twyman, Quintae Turner, Justin Swain all of Talladega, Alabama, Cennetta Towns (Eric) Bridges of Waynesville, Missouri, Ariel Johnson and XiRyah D. Sparks of Huntsville, Alabama; two great grandchildren, Cartez Turner and Rylei Chatman of Talladega, Alabama; mother-in-law, Ocelia Garrett of Alpine, Alabama; a brother-in-law, Michael Garrett of Alpine, Alabama; two sisters-in-law, Carol Lewis and Jackie Turner of Childersburg, Alabama; five aunts, Gladys Scott of Montgomery, Alabama, Ruth (Billy Joe) Morgan of Brooklyn, New York, Jackie Prather of Akron, Ohio, Helen Prather and Ann Prather of Detroit, Michigan; one uncle, Walter Prather of Petersburg, Virginia; special cousins, Yvonne Bolden, Aliynne Scott, Sheila Stockdale, Fatima Bolden and Teresa Cole; special friends, Minister Audrey Shields and Mattie Douthitt; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
