Obituary For Timothy Lewis
Timothy Lewis, 59, passed on Tuesday, March 11, 2025 in Opelika, AL.
Graveside service will be held on Tuesday, March 18, 2025 at 11:00 A.M. EST at Providence Baptist Church, Lato, AL with Rev. Felix Worthen, officiating. Public viewing is 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Monday, March 17, 2025.
Timothy was born on December 31,1965, a half hour shy of the New Year. He was a special gift to his parents, Otis and Delores Lee Lewis, and the youngest of their four children. Because of his special needs, his education did not follow the typical path, but he received the services of the East Alabama Mental Health Day Programs and later entered into their residential services.
Timothy was special. Those of us who were fortunate to know him, witnessed his dedication to a very structured and well-defined life. With utmost devotion, he attended to his daily chores, even when doing so would sometimes present an inconvenience to others. These occasions were generously forgiven, as we found them both amusing and endearing.
He knew the love of family and friends; he knew the grace of God.
He was preceded in death by his beloved parents and two brothers, Otis Lamar Lewis, Jr, and Michael Edward Lewis.
Survivors include his sister, Deborah Lewis Davidson (Donald); a brother, Larry Miles (Octavia); an aunt, Sarah Lewis; nieces, Amber Dixon (Curtis), Crystal Burge (Sedrick), Shonya McKinley (Kenneth); a nephew, Nicholas Dixon (Amanda); grand nieces and nephews and a host of cousins, many of whom are here today to celebrate his life.
A special thanks to the staff of The Opelika Retirement Home, Integra/EAMH for their ten years of care. Also, to Homer (Butch) Lewis, Jr., for his lifelong devotion to Tim, including his presence when Timothy departed this life.

Add A CondolenceTo the family I send my deepest condolences. I pray that God allows this time of grieving to bring you all peace. Tim was my guy when I worked at the day center. He was a joy to be around. Make him laugh, he was very helpful and even when I would visit to check on Ms. Lewis he would lead you in and let you know when it's time to leave. I will miss him truly. May the Lord be with you all.
I will continue to keep the family on my prayers as you all go through this difficult time of losing your love one. Tim will be greatly missed.
