Timothy Lamar Daniels, affectionately known as “Tiny Tim", "Marvin Gaye", "Big Cuz", "Timateo", or "Brother,” was born on November 18, 1957 in Columbus, Georgia. Tim was the third child of Lillie and Joe Daniels. Tim was always in pursuit of knowledge and truly valued his education.
He graduated from Central High School in 1976 , and continued his education at Alabama A&M University where he received an AA degree in Psychology. Tim’s talents were not limited to the classroom; he demonstrated his athleticism on the basketball court as a shooting guard while managing his collegiate studies. Thereafter, Tim took his talents to Atlanta, where he worked as a Marta police officer for several years. During this time, he served proudly in the United States Marine Corp Reserve.
In 1987 he married the love of his life, Patrice Vonzell Daniels and they have been married for 33 years. To this union there were two children, Milan, his “Yawn Yawn” and Jamal his “Mal Mal”.
Tim’s passion for service and helping others lead him to change careers and attend Miami Dade College where he received an Associates Degree in Nursing. Tim worked as a Registered Nurse in many ICUs and Emergency Rooms throughout his career. His hard work, compassion and exemplary dedication earned him many accolades over the years. His role as a father and as a nurse made him feel that he walked in greatest alignment with his purpose.
He had a love for chocolate chip cookies, chocolate cakes and various decadent sweets. He invested in the martial arts practice of Jujutsu, which he enjoyed very much. He was an avid movie watcher and music enthusiast. Quality time with family warmed his heart, and his magnetic energy was felt when he walked into a room. Tim was a spiritual man who loved the Lord and had a personal relationship with God. He was a member of Greater Mount Zion Baptist Church in Alabama.
Tim will be forever cherished by his loving wife, Patrice Daniels; daughter, Milan Daniels; son, Jamal Daniels; siblings, Bernard (Veronica) Daniels, Gregory Daniels, Norman Ray (Carolyn) Daniels, Christopher (Linda) Daniels; nephews, Ahmad Daniels, Miles Daniels, Ronald Stayton-Williams, Allis Harmon; niece, Katilya (Lawrence) McCoy; father and mother-n-law, Homer (Audrey) Williams; brother-n-law, Derek Williams, along with a host of cousins, aunts, uncles, spiritual friends and family.
