Obituary For Tawanna Marie Jones

Ms. Tawanna Marie Jones, 54, of Columbus, GA passed Monday, December 26, 2022 in Atlanta, GA.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. EST, Wednesday, January 4, 2023 at Phillips Temple C.M.E. Church with Rev. Gerald Rowe, pastor, officiating. Interment to follow in Lakeview Memory Gardens. Visitation will be held Tuesday, January 3, 2023 from 12-5 p.m. EST.

Tawanna Marie Jones was born August 12, 1968 in Phenix City, AL to Mack Jones and Rosie Chambers Jones. She was a graduate of Central High School, Phenix City, AL.

She was a family person who loved her children unconditionally and loved being around family. She loved listening to music, reading and watching TV shows from her childhood.

She was preceded in death by two of her children, Marcus Jones, Sr. and Brian Jones.

She leaves to cherish her memories: parents, Mack and Rosie C. Jones;lifelong partner, Steve Morten; children, Shakeitha Durham (Christopher), Byron Jones, Jonathan Jones, Sr. (Tania), Justin Jones (Bria), Timothy Jones, Destiney Jones, Travis Jones (Kayla) and Jason Jones; grandchildren, Jamal, Ryan, Micah, Marcus, Jr., Hendrix, Jonathan, Jr., Laila and Jariyah; siblings, Pamela Jones Banks (Rufus) and Christopher Jones and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.

I am very saddened about the lost of my mama co-worker Tawanna Jones. Her and my mother worked at The Teenage Parenting Center for years and I just seen her like 3 years ago and it hurts me that she passed away but I can tell you this my mom and her is up there caughting up on thing. Rip Mrs Jones love you going to miss you.
