Mr. Robert Stephens, 89, of Phenix City, AL passed Sunday, July 23, 2023 in Columbus, GA.
Funeral service will be held 1:00 p.m. EST, Saturday, August 5, 2023 at Mt. Olive Baptist Church, Phenix City, AL with Dr. Patrick T. Brown, pastor, officiating. Burial to follow in Stephens Cemetery, Phenix City, AL Visitation is Friday, August 4, 2023 from 2-5 p.m. EST.
Mr. Robert Stephens, Jr. was born May 18, 1934 o the late Robert Stephens, Sr. and Rochele Dixon. He passed July 23, 2023 in Columbus, GA.
He accepted Christ at an early age joining Mt. Olive Baptist Church under leadership of Rev. Henry Harris. He attended Mt. Olive High School. He later began employment at Fieldcrest Mill and then Nosegay Florist where he retired from both. He became a Mason in Masonic Lodge #428.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Stephens, Sr. and Rochele Dixon Miller; brothers, Willie Frank Lewis, George Miller, Fletcher Miller, Albert Stephens, Theodore Stephens and Jerry Miller; sisters, Johnnie Mae Coleman, Katie Nell Bailey and Christine Walker.
Mr. Stephens leaves to cherish his memories a devoted companion, Helen “Peggy” Blue, a loving and devoted stepdaughter, Jacqueline L. Lewis; brothers, Cornell Miller (Annie), Cincinnati, OH, James Stephens (Ann), Douglasville, GA; sister, Betty J. Brown, Phenix City, AL; a loving and devoted nephew, George “Roy” Lewis (Catherine), Michigan; four grandchildren, Dalicia McCoy (Calvin), Ikyll Frazier (John), Timothy Mahone and Brandon Mahone (Shannon); ten great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
Daddy thank you for raising me and for being my rock. I'm sure going to miss you. You fought a good fight now take your rest. Until we meet again. I love you ❤️💙
