Nakeita Yaveta Thomas, 39, of Phenix City, AL passed on Tuesday, April 15, 2025 in Columbus, GA.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. EST on Friday, April 25, 2025 in the C.T. Chapel of Taylor Funeral Home. Burial to follow in Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery. Public viewing is 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. EST. on Thursday, April 24, 2025.
Nakeita was a beautiful and brilliant soul left this world far too soon. She was born toJoe and Barbara Thomas in Columbus, GA on June 22, 1985. She was a beacon of light, illuminating the lives of those around her.
Nakeita pursued knowledge with unwavering passion. Graduated from Central High School in the Class of 2003. After graduation she joined the United States Army. Her primary specialty while serving was 92A210 Automated Logistical. She traveled and reported to several duty stations in the US and out of the country, Germany, Kuwait and Iraq.
Kindness flowed through Nakeita's veins. She volunteered at any event for her children's school and daycare. Nakeita had many hobbies but the one she enjoyed and cherished the most was painting and arts and crafts with her children. She helped several families during Christmas to make sure the children had a great Christmas. She would help those in need in all aspects of life. Nakeita laughter was infectious and he empathy touched everyone she met.
She was preceded in death by her father, Joe Thomas.
She leaves to cherish her memories, her mother, Barbara Thomas, sons, Aiden Murray and Alijah Murray; sisters, Chianti Thomas and Tway Thomas; nieces, Ashanti Thomas, Aniyah Thomas; great niece, Zyloah Garrett; nephews, Austin and Adrian Grant of Phenix City, AL; her children father, Antarion Murray of Columbus, GA.
