Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Terry was born on July 30, 1955 in Anniston, Alabama to the late J.C. Williamson and Annie Bell Williamson.
She confessed to Christ at an early age. In 1975 she married Howard W. Terry Sr.
After 23 years of serving as a military wife, she settled in Phenix City, Alabama in 1997 with her husband, Retired Sergeant First Class Howard W. Terry Sr. She united with Franchise Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Dr. Raymond Cochran, Pastor.
Mary retired from CB&T Bank in 2018 as the Assistant Branch Manager and continued to serve her community by working at the Russell County probate court part time, assisting the public with legal affairs and also by volunteering with Columbus Hospice by making "Memory Bears" for the family members of deceased patients.
Mary was a faithful servant. She was a member of the adult choir at Franchise Missionary Baptist Church and was also an excellent cook. She was well known for her Angelic voice, Sweet Potato pies and Red Velvet cakes.
Mrs. Terry leaves a legacy of love and integrity with her family and those who knew her. She has left behind wonderful memories of a loving devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. We are grateful for each, and every day we had the opportunity to see her glowing smile, and for the example she set as a genuine Christian and human being. Let us find comfort in and all of the conversations we shared with her. She is finally at rest and has ended her earthly journey.
Mrs. Terry is preceded in death by one sister, Alberta Williams and two brothers, Samuel Williamson and Daniel Williamson Sr.
She leaves behind to cherish her memories, loving husband, Howard Terry; one son, Howard (Ashley) Terry Jr. of Atlanta, Georgia; two daughters, Yolanda (Edwin) Beasley of Pittsview, Alabama, LaShun (Timothy Jr.) Littleton of Fort Mitchell, Alabama; one sister, Bessie Moore of Jacksonville, Alabama; three brothers, James (Sandy) Williamson of Biloxi, Mississippi, John Henry (Veronica) Williamson of Santa Ana, California and Nathaniel Williamson of Tuscaloosa Alabama, 11 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
