Johnny Lee was born September 7, 1953, in Russell County, AL. He was the 17th of 18 children to the late Kelly and Daisy Butler.
Johnny was educated in the Phenix City School System, where his education ended at Central High School.
Johnny was employed as a Car Wash detailer and a Tire Shop technician until his health failed. He loved spending time with his family and friends, especially his grandchildren. He had many Aka names: “JB” and “Good Loving”. If you didn’t have a nick name with him he gave you one and that was your name. He dressed nice and Stacey Adams was his choice for shoes and he looked down at them often to make sure they were still clean. He went almost no where without his shades and a hat on. Washing cars, listening to music and dancing is what he did. When he was around you were always going to have a good laugh even if he was talking about you. Even during his last days with him, he still made you laugh. He liked many singers and singing groups, but Tyrone Davis was one of his favorites. He also enjoyed his gospel music and going to worship service when he was able to.
Johnny was preceded in death by a number of siblings and his two grandsons, Demereus Q. Crowell and Derrick Q. Motley Jr.
He leaves to cherish his memories, his four beautiful children, Frankie Lee Crowell, Curtis Lee Crowell, Travis Omar Crowell and Nina Bernice Crowell, all of Phenix City, Alabama; two sisters: Betty J.Davis and Stella Hobson, both a Phenix City, Alabama one brother-in-law, Willie Gene Crowell of Phenix City Alabama; 14 grandchildren, three great grandchildren, a devoted friend of 17 years, Ms. Melissa Henry, and a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
Growing up my uncle Johnny and I always played road under my grandparents house, we didn't have any real toy cars so we used sardines cans🤣 I couldn't wait to get to my grandparents house so we could go play road. You will be truly missed my brother ❤️
