Obituary For Jammie Mitchell

Mrs. Jammie Nell Mitchell, 82, of Opelika, AL passed Wednesday, February 22, 2023 in Opelika, AL.

Funeral service will be held 1:00 p.m. EST Tuesday, February 28, 2023 at Canaan A.M.E Seale, AL with Rev. Herbert Newsome, pastor. Burial to follow in the old cemetery. Public visitation is Monday, February 27 from 1 - 5 p.m.

Mrs. Jammie Nell Mitchell was born March 30, 1940 to the late Judy Anne Morgan and the late Macie Morgan.

She was united in Holy Matrimony to the late Joe Lewis Mitchell. At an early age she confessed Christ and joined Canaan A.M.E Church.

Jammie was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Lewis Michell; two sons, Macie and Jerry Mitchell and one daughter, Deloris Moffett.

She leaves to cherish her memories children, Robert (Jackie) Mitchell, Eddie (Morocka) Mitchell, Mary (Curtis) Fears, Ruby Mitchell, Joseph (Denese) Mitchell, Joyce (Calvin) Sanders, Larry Shirley) Mitchell, Jerome Mitchell, Anthony (Angelia) Mitchell, Tyrone Mitchell, Kalvin Mitchell, Charmaine (Charlene) Mitchell, Michelle (Lorenzo) Lyles, Denise Mitchell, Rwanda Mitchell, James Mitchell and Reginald Mitchell; two sisters, Hattie Pearl Pitts of Phenix City, and Annie Jean Pitts of Opelika, AL; one sister in law, Cora Lee James; two brothers-in-law, David Lee Mitchell and Aaron Grant both of Opelika, AL; 65 grandchildren, 60 great grand children, one great grandchild and a host of other relatives and friends.
