James was born January 28,1971, in Tuskegee, AL to Carrie Lou and Elmo Harris. James was a proud Southern man who lived a life of hard work, dedication, and unconditional love for his family.
A graduate of Chavala High School, James began his career at Swift Denim in Columbus, GA where he worked diligently and earned the respect of all those who knew him. He spent years building a legacy of loyalty and commitment in his career but, his true passion was fixing cars. Whether it was a classic vehicle, a daily drive or a friend in need of a helping hand, James could always be found under the hood, hands covered in grease, bringing machines back to life. His love for working on cars was as much a part of him as his love for his family.
James was a proud father, stepfather, and grandfather. His children and grandchildren were the light of his life, and his legacy lives on through them. James had a heart full of love and wisdom that he shared freely with his family. He was always there with a steady hand, a caring, and a sense of humor that made every moment spent with him unforgettable.
James was also a proud Roll Tide fan, and his passion for Alabama football reflected his loyalty, determination and love for the things that mattered most. He approached life with the same intensity and spirit that made him such a dedicated fan of his team. We will honor his memories by living with the same love, strength, and commitment that he demonstrated every day.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Carrie Lou Harris, and his grandparents, Oscar Thomas and Katie Thomas, whom he now joins in eternal peace.
James is survived by his father, Elmo Harris, his siblings, Darrell (Lashica) Harris, Tiffany Harris, and Dennis (Lashonda) Harris; his children, James Paige, Chiquitta Harris, Courtney Harris, Martin Paige, Katherine (Chanice) Riley, and Terrell Harris;his stepchildren, DeMarques Wiggins, Jakobe Kimbrough, and Minkalia Wiggins; 11 beloved grandchildrens; and a host of nieces and nephews.
His legacy will live on in the countless lives he touched, and he will be deeply missed by all who had the honor of knowing him. May he rest in power, knowing his impact will never be forgotten.

My condolences to James family I stopped one day to ask him a mechanical question and to put air in my tire in hurtsboro a while back. Lately I would see him at the gas station as I was gassing the bus up and we would speak to each other. He had a wonderful spirit and a caring heart. RIP James . From Janie
