Mrs. Gloria Jean Parker Williams, 65, of Smiths Station, AL passed Saturday, April 6, 2024 in Columbus, GA.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. EST, Saturday, April 13, 2024 at Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Steven Garrett, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in Lakeview Memory Gardens, Phenix City, AL. Visitation will be held Friday, April 12, 2024 from 2-5 p.m. EST.

Gloria Jean (Parker) Williams, also known as “GG”, was born May 17, 1957, in Columbus, Georgia. She was the seventh of thirteen children, born to the late James and Annie (Davis) Parker. She departed this earthly life on April 6, 2024, in Columbus, Georgia.

She confessed Christ at an early age and joined the Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church. Throughout her life she served faithfully in various ministries, such as the Choir, the Matrons, the Deacon’s Wives, etc. Gloria was a dedicated member until her illness prevented her from serving.

After graduating from Central High School in 1976, she became a Certified Nursing Assistant. Gloria worked at Parkwood Health Care Facility for over thirty-eight years. She found great joy in caring for her residents and was recognized on numerous occasions for the care and service she provided.

In her retirement, she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren most of all. She made it a priority to ensure each of them felt important and loved.

Gloria was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, Kenneth Parker, Jerome Parker, and Horace Parker.

She leaves behind to cherish her memories: a devoted and faithful husband of forty-eight years, Willie Frank Williams, Jr. of Smiths Station, AL; one son, Nicholas Williams of Seale, AL; one daughter, Gabrielle Ervin (Samson) of Montgomery, AL; four granddaughters, Eileen, Temina, Nikedriona, and Nicole; one grandson Carter; four sisters, Dorothy Herron (Amos), Irene Parker, Patricia (Parker) Stroud, and Beverly Parker; five brothers, Willie Parker, Johnny Parker (Deloise), Terry Parker (Tina), Andrew Parker, and Jeffery Parker; two brothers-in-law, Kenneth Williams and Jerome Williams; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, and friends. Special thanks to Irene Parker and Marissa Fuller.
