Elizabeth Brown, 80, passed on Tuesday, November 19, 2024 in Columbus, GA.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. EST on Tuesday, November 26, 2024 at Mother Mary Mission with Father David Hamm, officiating. Public viewing is 12:00 - 5:00 P.M. EST on Monday, November 25, 2024.
Elizabeth was born on July 12, 1944 in Fort Mitchell, AL to the late George Hartman, Sr. and the late Bessie (Davis) Hartman.
She departed this life on Tuesday, November 19, 2024 surrounded by her family.
Elizabeth attended Mother Mary Mission High School. Upon graduating she entered into the United States Air Force. Elizabeth married her soul mate on August 15, 1964. Elizabeth received her Associates Degree in Business Administration from Housatonic Community College in Bridgeport, Connecticut. Elizabeth lived in Bridgeport, Connecticut for over 25 years.
Elizabeth’s love of GOD was unwavering, her faith was unbreakable. She lived life to the fullest and especially loved spending time with her family and friends. Her friendships encompassed all aspects of life, and each was special to her. Her generosity knew no bounds. She was known for her hearty laugh and kind heart. Her radiant smile lit up any room she entered. She was the heart and soul of her family, and she will be dearly missed. She was an avid reader, she loved working with the youth. She loved sports. A die hard Alabamian, “Roll Tide”!!! And a lifelong Bassick High School Lioness “Roar Mighty Lions!!!
Elizabeth is preceded in death by her daughter, Dorrina Lorraine Brown; grandson, Frank James Brown, IV; brothers, George, Jr. and James Hartman.
Her memory is cherished by her beloved husband, Frank James Brown, Jr., Upatoi, Georgia; son, Frank James Brown, III (Teresa) of Columbia, South Carolina; daughter, Melissa La’Shawn Brown of Upatoi, Georgia; one brother, Bobby Hartman (Jean) of Toledo,Ohio; one sister in-law, Anne Hartman (James) of Orlando, Florida; granddaughters, Imani Chi Deline (John) of Hudson, Michigan; Chynna Elizabeth Brown of Columbus, Georgia; Ojore Taki Brown of Sumter, South Carolina; granddaughter-in-law, Carisha Lashawn Roscoe (Frank IV) of Waterbury, Connecticut; one great granddaughter, Meadow Nyarah Dye; one great grandson, Jayton Son Ruffin; She was also blessed to have bonus great grandchildren, Royce King, Meagan, Allyson and Joshua Deline; one aunt, Alberta Holloway of Newnan, Georgia.
Her memory also lives on with her nieces and nephews; cousins and dear friends.
A special thank you to Celeste her home health nurse, Shanna her nurse at Columbus Hospice, and Columbus Hospice Staff for the care and love they showed our beloved wife, mother and grandmother.
