Dwight Carlton Jones was born September 2 ,1977 in Norfolk, Virginia to Debra L. Jones and the late Dwight C. Bell. God decided to take back his child on December 12, 2023, at his residence in Ft. Mitchell, AL.
He was preceded in death by his father, Dwight Bell; mother-in-law, Betty Snead, Harlem, NY; grand- mother, Golden Jones AKA, Goldie, Norfolk, VA; grandmother Odessa Caroline Bell, Toledo, OH; cousin, Kayawn Bell, Norfolk,VA.
He leaves behind him a host of loved ones to always cherish his memories. His wife, April Jones, Columbus, GA; mother, Debra Jones, Norfolk, VA; two daughters, Zakkeya Snead and Dawniqua Snead,Columbus, GA; two sons, Syncere Snead and Loyal Snead, Columbus, GA; two brothers, Dwight Bell, Jr., Toledo, OH and Brandon Jones, Norfolk, VA; four sisters, Carletta Jones, Norfolk, VA, Laura Cooper, Atlanta, GA, Dominique Ottrix ,Toledo, OH, Deatra Johnson, AZ; he also leave behind his grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, close friends and his best friend Desmund Youngblood to cherish his memories.
Dwight was known to most by “VA”. He was a husband, son, father, brother, grandfather, uncle, cousin, friend, and overall wonderful man with a huge personality. But most of all he loved his family, and he loved the Lord. He would say “I know God got me.” Because of this, we can eventually have rest knowing exactly that.
Dwight was a hard worker and wanted to make sure that his family and loved ones ate. This world was not big enough for him. He worked with Concrete Feet Entertainment, he had his own assembly company, and he worked as a contractor for Lowes. He was a beast with his hands. He could put together just about anything without instructions. As a six year-old child he took apart televisions and reassembled them to fix them.
He was the life of the party and didn’t mind getting kicked out. Sometimes he would kick himself out because he knew it was coming. He was the most brutally honest person known and it came from a place of love. He wanted his loved ones protected, happy, in a good space, and never taken advantage of. If you know him, I’m sure you can see him, his teeth, his smile, and him explaining with “wooo wooo wooo”, and saying “yaaaaaah yaaaaaaaah!!!!”. Cherish good memories and celebrate his life. What would he do?
