SSG (Ret.) David W. Johnson, 69, of Columbus, GA passed Monday, July 26, 2021 in Montgomery, AL.
Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. EST, Wednesday, August 4, 2021 in the C.T. Chapel of Taylor Funeral Home with Rev. Carlton Mahone, officiating. Interment to follow in Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery, Ft. Mitchell, AL. Visitation is Tuesday, August 3, 2021 from 2-5 p.m. EST.
SSG (Ret.) Johnson was born September 27, 1951 in Neptune, NJ to the late Lottie Mae Miller and the late Frizell Johnson. He was a member of Hosley Monumental Christian Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Sharolyn Johnson; a daughter, Shonda Johnson both of Columbus, Georgia, two sons, David Johnson, Jr., St. Paul, Minnesota and Lavandis Johnson, Phoenix, Arizona; three step children, Kanji Wright, St. Paul, Minnesota; Shanta Allen, Atlanta, Georgia; Shawn Allen, Columbus, Georgia; one sister, Evelyn McGhee; two brothers, Joseph Johnson and Eugene Johnson of Ashbury, New Jersey; four grandchildren, DeTravion Fluellen, Jameel Palmer, Kaleb Harris, Kayden Harris, Columbus, Georgia; a father and mother-in-law, Rev. LK & Mrs. Ola Allen, three sisters and brothers-in-law, Shanita Thomas, Atlanta, Georgia, Sarita and C J Johnson, Lato, Alabama, Sonja and Robert Keyes, Columbus, Georgia and a host of grandchildren, nephews, nieces, cousins and other relatives and friends.
I've met many parents in my 26 years of life and I can hands down say Mr. Johnson was the BEST dad!! He was the prime definition of a dad who would do anything to keep a smile on his kids' face. Forever remembered. Rest in love Mr. Johnson ❤️
