Obituary For Christopher Lamar Beamon
Mr. Christopher Lamar Beamon, 52, of Auburn, AL passed Sunday, April 23, 2023 in Opelika, AL.
Funeral service to be 1:00 p.m. EST, Saturday, April 29, 2023 at New Jerusalem Baptist Church with Rev. Tommy Davis, pastor, officiating. Burial to follow in Motts Church of Christ Cemetery, Motts, AL. Visitation is Friday, April 28, 2023 from 1-5 p.m. EST.
Mr. Christopher Lamar Beamon was born September 3, 1970 in Phenix City, AL to Nellie Jones Henderson.
He accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of New Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church, graduate of Hardaway High School, Columbus, GA and received his degree in Criminal Justice from Troy University, Phenix City, AL.
He began his career after graduating working 20 plus years as a Correctional Officer. He started at Lee County Sheriff Department furthering his career, he began working with Georgia State Correctional Department and ending his career at Muscogee County Prison.
He was a member of Peace Officers Association of Georgia, President of the Men Department, Deacon and Church Security Team at New Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church.
Chris was preceded in death by his grandparents, Dea. Ike and Mattie Jones; aunt, Annie Hicks and three cousins, DeLonyus Phillips, Richard Harris and Tony Jones.
He leaves behind to cherish his memories his wife, Monetta Lakitha Beamon; children, Zadah, Aziera, Zoe Beamon all of Columbus, GA and De'Andrea Tolbert, Auburn, AL; parents, Dea. Roosevelt and Nellie Henderson, Opelika, AL; sister, Loretta Sherrell Beamon, Opelika, AL; sister- in-law, Marchetta Macon (Anthony), Houston, TX; father and mother-in-law, Larry and Mattie Black, Auburn, AL; aunts and uncles, Ida Meads, Mattie Britton (Enoch), Linda Lewis all of Columbus, GA, Rosie Harris (Frank), Atlanta, GA, Johnny Jones (Mary), Chesapeake, VA, Isaac Jones, Willie Jones, Lillie Jones, Henry Jones, Charles Jones and Doris Franklin all of Phenix City, AL; niece and nephew, Malah Macon and Anthony Macon, Jr. both of Houston, TX; three god sisters and one god brother; Chris will be missed by his close and special cousins, other relatives and friends.

She loved to see Chris coming ! They would pick with each other and have everyone around laughing! He made sure my girls kept some dollars in their pockets and a smile on their face!
