Obituary For Andrew Jackson

Andrew Jackson, 77 of Phenix City, AL passed on, Saturday, April 27, 2024 in Columbus, GA.

Funeral service will be held at 12:00 pm EST on Thursday, May 30, 2024 in the C.T. Chapel at Taylor Funeral Home. Interment to follow at Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery. Public viewing is on Wednesday, May 29, 2024 from 2:00 - 5:00 p.m. EST.

Andrew Jackson, born on March 4, 1947, to Frank and Ada Jackson in Russell County, Alabama, was the ninth of eleven children.

Andrew was educated in the Phenix City Public Schools. He was known for his enthusiasm for learning and sportsmanship. He accepted Christ at an early age and remained devoted to the Lord.

Andrew served with honor in the United States Army, demonstrating remarkable bravery during the Vietnam War. His service to his country was a testament to his courage and dedication, earning him the respect and admiration of his fellow soldiers and community.

He is preceded in death by his loving parents, Frank and Ada Jackson; brothers, Frank Jackson Jr. and Alpha Jackson; sisters, Adell Jackson, Lillian Clay, Ada Bell Cole, Minnie Stinson, Sallie Joseph, and Mary Wright. Their memories, however, remain alive in the hearts of those who loved them.

Andrew leaves to celebrate the life he lived and cherish the memories: his wife, Stephanie Vaughn. He is also survived by his beloved children: Kathleen, Gentry, Leslie, Tawanna, Kurt, Andrea, Andrew Jr., Andre, Antonio, Tyrone, Jada, and Alpha. His legacy of love and dedication continues through his two surviving sisters, Salome Brown and Elizabeth Shumpert, St. Louis.

In addition to his immediate family, Andrew is remembered by a host of relatives, loving and devoted friends, and his extended family in the community. Special recognition is given to his niece, Vicki Davis, for her unwavering support and love.

Andrew's life was marked by his deep faith, service to his country, and profound love for his family. He was a pillar of strength, wisdom, and compassion. His memory will be cherished by all who had the honor of knowing him. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered for his gentle spirit, enduring love, and the many lives he touched.
