Alice Patterson, 90 of Phenix City, AL passed Saturday, August 3, 2024 in Columbus, GA.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. EST on Friday, August 9, 2024 at Nichols Chapel AME Church located at 215 11th Ave, Phenix City, AL with Rev. Wendell Jones, pastor officiating. Burial to follow in Lakeview Cemetery. Public viewing is 12:00-5:00 p.m. EST on Thursday, August 9, 2024.
Mrs. Alice Ezekiel “Muttie” Patterson was born on April 22, 1934, in Fort Mitchell, Alabama to the late Robert Ezekiel and the late Louise Brooks Ezekiel. She departed this wonderful life on August 3, 2024.
Alice was the third child of seven children. She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Ezekiel and her mother Louise Ezekiel; one brother Robert Ezekiel, Jr.; four sisters, Margarette Cooley, Mary Louise Mullins, Mary Ella Edwards, and Dorothy Mae Street.
She accepted Christ at an early age and united with the Nichols Chapel AME Church family where she served faithfully. She was a member of Stewardess Board #3 where she was the Hospitality Treasurer.
Alice worked for 20 years or more at Lee‘s Drug Store in Columbus, Georgia. She went to Walmart and worked for 12 or more years until she retired. She also worked as a Foster grandparent in the Phenix City School System.
She leaves to cherish her loving memories two daughters, Yolanda Joyce and Patricia (Ronnie) DuBose both of Phenix City, AL; four grandchildren, Melissa(Jamel) Davis, Atlanta, GA, Marcus DuBose and Mercedes DuBose both of Phenix City, AL, and Marquis DuBose of Fairburn, GA; five great-grandchildren, Melaysa, Ayden, Isaiah, Markel, Makayla; one brother, James(Earnestine) Ezekiel of Columbus, GA; two devoted nieces, Claudette Lawrence, and Connie Gosulin, a devoted nephew, Alfonza Mullins; three very “special children”, Sha’lonekah Upshaw, Yolanda and Cal Lewis; her partner in crime, Teresa Dot Calhoun; a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
