Long time Tallahasseean, Dr. Alexander Brickler, died peacefully in his sleep in the early hours of October 30th. Known for his insight, wisdom, and rapier wit, we anticipate that he will be sorely missed.
He is widely acknowledged for having delivered more than 30,000 babies, trained 300 physicians and been unstintingly generous with his time and talents. We, his family, will deeply miss him as a husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle and cousin.
Arrangements are being handled by Strong and Jones Funeral Home. Memorial services will be 10:00AM Saturday, November 04, 2023 at FAMU College of Pharmacy.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to A.D. Brickler Labor and Delivery Endowment at the TMH Foundation.

I will remember Dr. Brickler for his reassuring manner, quiet dignity, and dry humor during night calls awaiting calls to L&D. It was an honor.

I worked with Dr AD in L&D in the early 1990's as a new nurse. I realize how he shaped the nurse, nurse-midwife, and woman I am today. His loving guidance, mentorship, example of treating all people with dignity, compassionate altruism, and humor are traits I try to live up to daily. I am so grateful to have seen him early this year after 30+ years when I made a trek back to FL to visit. Sending my love and deepest condolences to Dr AJ and family. Rest in peace! Gayle Tanaka

Dr. Brickler offered me both wisdom and support through my journey as a physician resident at the TMH Family Medicine Residency program in the early 1980s. He delivered my 2 children. I used to enjoy seeing him pull up in his red Porsche 911 at the hospital physician parking lot. Simply the best doctor I have known. He and Dr. Bud Harrison shaped the medical community in Tallahassee. My prayers are with his family and friends. Dr. Stephen LaRosa
