Obituary For Michael Wright

Michael Von Wright slept away into eternal rest on April 30, 2020. Michael was born January 31, 1983 in Ft. Pierce, FL to the late Ossie Wright, Jr., and Barbara Ervin Wright.

Michael was smart. He matriculated through the schools of St. Lucie County graduating from Lincoln Park Academy in 2000, a year earlier than his class. He continued his education at Florida Agricultural Mechanical University (FAMU) where he earned his Bachelor of Arts Degree in History and Geography in 2005. He pledged Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity and was active with the Eta Kappa Lambda Chapter in Ft. Pierce, FL. Michael loved life and traveled extensively with his parents.

Michael started his teaching career in St. Lucie County and landed hisfirst job teaching at Dan McCarty Middle school. He worked until his health began to fail.

He loved his church, Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church, and was a faithful member of it under the pastorage of Rev. Howard D. Coleman.

He was an active participant in the youth department under Mrs. Iantha Kennedy and Mrs. Anita Williams.

Michael was preceded in death by his parents Ossie Wright, Jr., and Barbara Jean Ervin Wright. He leaves to cherish his memories his brothers Ossie III, Paul G. (Claudine) Wright, Antonio Wright; a sister, Lisa (Victor) Ruiz; Aunts: Rose (Rev. Larry) Troupe, Rev. Dr. Frances Harris, Rev. Dr. Mary (Mark) Dixon, Linda Williams, Peggy Harris-Smith, Veronica Williams; Uncles, Bishop Ronald E. (Juanita) Wright, Sr., Gregory Williams and Rev. Dr. James Leon Gallon; nieces, Ariana Wright, Taj’e Wright, Kiana Wright; a nephew, E’Mario Je’an Martin and a host of relatives and friends.

Drive-thru visitation for Michael Wright will take place from 5-7PM on Friday, May 8, 2020 at Stone Brothers Funeral Home in Fort Pierce, FL. A Funeral service will take place on Saturday, May 9, 2020 at First Bethel Missionary Baptist Church in Fort Pierce, FL. Interment in Fernwood Cemetery.

Although, many venues have opened and the restrictions of COVID 19 have been relaxed, we here at Stone Brothers Funeral Homes are still enforcing the guidelines set forth by the CDC and FDOH to protect our families and our staff. Michael you have been in my life since you were 5 yrs old. I am going to miss coming to visit you when I go to West Palm Beach, I'm going to miss those crazy phone calls we had when I couldn't get down there. I am going to miss that call sometimes when you refuse to take your meds and the nurse calls me and say "auntie Peggy, Michael wont take his meds and I respond by saying, " bring him to the phone, and I tell you what will happen if you don't, I'm going to miss bringing you sweets that you liked. I'm going to miss you telling me your secrets about things only you and I knew, I'm going to miss you but I know you are with your mom now and she can continue to spoil you in heaven and know that you both will always have a place in my heart . I will continue to visit your mom but you will be so far away all I will be able to do is think about you and remember your birthday as I have for 32 years. You're gone too soon, and you will be greatly missed younger Bro. I remember your first steps, first words, and when mom and I potty trained you, etc. Although you might've felt that the world didn't understand you, or felt out of place, you were always loved by many people.
