Obituary For Major Nathaniel "Nay" Hudson

Nathaniel “Nay” was born on June 15, 1951 to the late Willie Edward Hudson and Celia Richardson. He attended the local schools of St. Lucie County where he graduated from Lincoln Park Academy in 1969. He attended Florida A & M University and received his Bachelor’s Degree in 1973. Nay was an engineer in the United States Army where he retired as a Major in 1994. He served the community as a Licensed Insurance Agent for many years after his retirement from the military.

Nathaniel married the love of his life, Anne Benjamin Hudson, in Stuart, FL, on August 24, 1974. From their union was born one son, Kevin Nathaniel Hudson, on March 12, 1976. Nathaniel was always a wealth of knowledge and if you listened, you always learned something. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, football, music, family, and people!! Nathaniel was a Member of Friendship Primitive Baptist Church in Wabasso, Florida.

Major Nathaniel Hudson made his transition from life to eternal life on January 13, 2023. He is preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Celia Hudson; his brothers, Richard “Sid” Hudson and Isiah “Ike” Hudson; his sisters, Ruth Ann Hudson and Rebecca Johnson; his aunt, Sadie Edmonds.

Left to cherish his precious memories are his loving wife of 48 years: Anne Benjamin Hudson; their son: Kevin (Denise) Nathaniel Hudson; his brother: Willie (Linda) Hudson; sisters-in-law: Edna Anderson, Rosalind (Edd) Brown, Jacquelyn (Freddie) Buckholts, Tonya Dixon, Angeline (William) Rolle and Elena Benjamin; brothers-in-law: Ronald Benjamin, Sanford (Doris) Benjamin, James (Loretta) Benjamin, Emory (Darris) Benjamin, Eugene (Sylvia) Williams, Joe (Pauline) Hill, Willie Hill, Vincent Benjamin, Dwayne Benjamin, Roderick (Lucy) Benjamin, Chauncey (Linda) Benjamin, and Michael (Jackie) Benjamin; and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, relatives, colleagues, and friends.

Funeral services will convene on Saturday, January 21, 2023 at Allen Chapel AME Church in Fort Pierce, FL beginning at 1:00pm. Burial will follow at a later time in Cape Canaveral National Cemetery.

Although many venues have opened and the restrictions of COVID-19 have been relaxed, we at Stone Brothers Funeral Homes are still enforcing the guidelines set forth by the CDC and FDOH to protect our families and our staff. We ask that you respect this, as it could very well save your life. We also ask that you acknowledge and execute the 6 feet social distancing guidelines as well.
