Johnnie Mae Hudgeons Franklin was born on December 24, 1928 in Perry, Georgia to the late John Hudgeons and the late Addie Perrin.
After matriculating through school, she relocated to Fort Pierce, Florida in 1956 and quickly joined the workforce. She became employed at Grumman Aircraft Facility. She worked as an Assembler for a number of years before becoming disabled in 1972.
During her down time, she enjoyed activities such as: fishing, crossword puzzles, playing solitaire. She dedicated her remaining time to taking care of her family and enjoying life. Her family was her everything. Johnnie Mae married the love of her life, Charles Franklin Sr., and to this union she bore one son and one daughter. Johnnie Mae shared her beautiful smile, laughter, and kindness with everyone that she came in contact with. Johnnie Mae was a stern, caring, and very direct in a loving way. Ninety three glorious years filled with blessings was a treasure to all.
On August 3, 2022, Johnnie Mae Hudgeons Franklin entered into eternal rest with the Almighty God. He saw that his child needed rest from all her labor. Johnnie Mae was preceded in death by her mother: Addie Perrin; her father: John Hudgeons; her husband: Charles Franklin Jr.; son: Aaron Grimes; daughter: Addie Parks Collins; great - granddaughter: Camilia Albury; great - grandson: Wesley Alexander Jr.; sisters: Mary Troup, Lucile Hudgeons, and Cleo Hudgeons; and brother: Spencer Hudgeons.
Mrs. Johnnie Mae Hudgeons Franklin is survived by: her grandsons: Charles (Alice) Parks, Nathaniel (Debra) Collins, Wesley (Vera) Alexander, Deon Franklin, Shamar Franklin, Aaron (Lanetrika) Grimes Jr., Aaron Leroy Grimes III, Corey Andrews, Paul Parker Jr., Tyrone Parker; granddaughters: Mary (Joe) Wilson, Charlene (Billy) Johnson, Paula (Damon) Thomas, Cathy Franklin, Alicia Grimes and Lakenia Franklin; godchildren: Larry (Joyce) Washington, Michael (Latanya) Greene, Carl Williams, Geraldine Jenkins McCoy and Linda Wasuttaj; great-grandsons: Stanley Johnson, Javin Morgan, Charun Parks, Nathaniel Collins III, Dominic Collins, Carlos Webb, Michael Reynolds, Christopher Flippin, Bobby Bond, William Gordon, Samuel Johnson, AJ Johnson, Ralph Morrison Jr., Lamar Gibson, Edwin Gibson, King Holland, Brent Grimes, Jonathan Moore, Taedyn Carlyle Parker, Tayshar Parker, Deon Franklin Jr., Amarion Cox, and Laronzo Martin; great - granddaughters: Nicole Collins, Jennifer Gollett, Ashley Wilson, Kahlia Alexander, Tamia Alexander, Tia Alexander, Yoninah Alexander, Cherelle Bond, Brittany Alexander, Melissa Johnson, Nicole Morrison, Destiny Franklin, Ma’khia Gibson, Damilya Williams, Ashley Grimes, Aareona Grimes, Shatyra Parker, Deztanie Parker, Deoncia Franklin, Empress Franklin; And a host of great - great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and extended family.
A private family memorial service will convene on Saturday, August 13, 2022 at Stone Brothers Funeral Home in Fort Pierce, FL beginning at 3:00pm.
