Obituary For Freddie Lee Roundtree

Freddie Lee Roundtree daughter of the late Cora and Willie Roundtree was born in Jacksonville, FL on Sunday May 16, 1926.

Freddie was educated in the public schools of Duval County. She worked at Swisher International and retired after almost 50 years of dedicated service. She was a devoted foster parent in Jacksonville Florida. She provided a loving and stable environment for those in need. After retiring, she worked part-time for Duval County Schools as a Crossing Guard. She lived and breathed a life of service.

Freddie was converted at an early age at Mount Sinai Missionary Baptist Church under the pastorate of the late Reverend H.H. Robinson and Reverend B.J. Lane. As a devoted member of Mount Sinai, she served faithfully as a Sunday School Teacher. In later years, Freddie joined Twin Springs Missionary Baptist Church under the pastorate of Reverend Dr. C.G. Skinner until her demise.

God called his child home to her final resting place on Sunday April 2, 2023. She was preceded in death by her father and mother: Willie and Cora Roundtree; daughter: Sheila “Diane” Dale; sisters: Essie James (J. Horace), Lula Roundtree, Sara Fletcher (Leo), Florence “Net” Irvin; brothers: Ebbie “Shug” Roundtree (Inez), Willie “Buddy” Roundtree (Gertrude); brother-in-law: Ed Hamilton; nephew: Byron Hamilton; grandchildren: Shontell Samuel and Anthony Roundtree; niece: Tia Williams.

Freddie is survived by her son: Eddie M. Roundtree (Louise); daughters: Jacquelyn Harris, Latrice Roundtree Story (Charles), Tameka Roundtree LeCount, Lashonda Roundtree, Ronisha Roundtree Albertie (Joshua); loving and devoted siblings: Wilhelmena Hamilton and Thomas Roundtree; a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews and sorrowing family and friends.

Public visitation for Freddie Lee Roundtree will take place on Saturday, April 8, 2023 from 11:00am-12:00pm which will be followed by her Home Going Service beginning promptly at 12:00pm at Twin Springs Missionary Baptist Church in Jacksonville, FL. Burial will follow in Restlawn Memorial Park.
