Obituary For Aaron Jerome Mullins

Our son and brother, Aaron Jerome Mullins, slipped into peaceful rest, Friday evening, February 12, 2021, ending his health battles. Born to proud parents Aaron Mullins and Donnie Lee Scruggs, they welcomed their baby boy into the world on October 29, 1961. He was an active junior usher at First Bethel Missionary Baptist Church, a high school football team member, and an amateur boxer. Jerome earned his education in the St. Lucie County School System. Unknowingly, making history as the first graduating class of 1979 from Fort Pierce Westwood High School. Jerome learned a new vocation as a master window, screen, and glass cutter at Florida Awning and Glass while in high school before moving to Miami to work at McArthur Dairy. He later obtained his CDL and became a commercial long-distance driver with Indian River Transport, Winter Haven, Florida.

If you knew Jerome, you knew he was a prankster and always kept you laughing with his sense of humor and light-hearted banter. He was a lover of all things music and an avid collector.

His first cousin, Warren Smith (New York, NY), preceded him in an untimely transition into eternal rest, February 4, 2021, just days before Jerome joined him.

Jerome is survived by his loving mother, Donnie Mullins (Fort Pierce, FL), his sister, Patricia Mullins (Fort Pierce, FL); his aunts Mable Peoples (Sardis, AL) and Glenda Marshall (Canton, OH), Carolyn Scruggs (Springfield, MA); his uncles Wade Smith (Sardis, AL), Warren Smith (Canton, OH). And a whole host of multi-generational cousins where he was a favorite cousin among cousins. Jerome’s life was greatly enriched by love, support, spiritual guidance, advice, and great meals shared with his childhood friends, classmates, godbrothers, godsisters, godmothers, big sisters, and big brothers, lifetime friends, pals and buddies, and especially those brothers from another mother, both new and old.

Public viewing for Aaron Jerome Mullins will take place on Thursday, February 25, 2021 by way of our drive-thru in the rear of Stone Brothers Funeral Home in Fort Pierce, FL beginning at 4:00pm. Graveside services will convene on Friday, February 25, 2021 at 11:00am at Riverview Memorial Park in Fort Pierce, FL.

Although many venues have opened and the restrictions of COVID 19 have been relaxed, we here at Stone Brothers Funeral Homes are still enforcing the guidelines set forth by the CDC and FDOH to protect our families and our staff.
