Mrs. Ruthie Mae Hadley was born on February 27, 1950, in Quitman, Georgia. She departed this life on January 3, 2025. Ruthie was the
baby of 10 children born to Mr. Silas and Marie Golden, who both preceded her in death.
She loves and leaves to cherish her memories, her husband for 54
years, Mr. Larry Hadley, Sr.; her five children, Wayne (Aretha) Evans,
Michael Davis and Jenesta Hadley, Larry (Leticia) Hadley, Jr. and Charlynn
Hadley; 17 grandchildren and her 23 great-grandchildren. She also had one
daughter to precede in her death, Amy Golden. She also loved and leaves one very close non-birth son, Mr. Tyrone Maxwell and one non-birth daughter, Mrs. Miranda (Willie) Cox. Ruthie has one special living sister, Mrs. Earnestine Johnson Golden and five sisters and three brothers to precede in her death. Not to mention the host of nieces, nephews, in-laws, cousins, friends, and family church members. We definitely can’t forget the special love she had for her pastor of 45 years, Bishop Larry Gilyard, Sr., and her First Lady, Pauline Gilyard who was like a daughter.
After leaving Washington Street School in Quitman, Georgia, Ruthie
moved to Florida for a short while and later returned home. She later left
again with her husband to Fort Benning, Georgia, where she resided until death. For many years, she worked as a civil service worker in Fort Benning, Georgia, until she retired. Ruthie loved her job and the kids on her job. She loved the Lord even more because she became a faithful member of the Christian Fellowship Church in September of 1981. As the church began to change locations and start a prayer group, Ruthie opened up her home to host prayer meetings. She also served faithfully on the Christian Fellowship Church International Auxiliaries and several committees, such as the Missionary Department, Hospitality, Usher Board, Deaconess Board, Senior Auxiliary, Church Greeter, and Mother Board, and joined Women In Action.
Because of her dedication and faithfulness, on October 23, 2023, she
was appointed National Mother of Christian Fellowship Church International, Inc.
