Obituary For Rickie Miller

Mr. Rickie Miller was born on March 29, 1967 in Brooks County, Georgia to the late Cleveland Miller (Spooky) and the late Sally L. Smith Copeland.

Rickie graduated from Brooks County High School in Quitman, Georgia. He attended many churches in the area throughout the years. The last church he attended was New Jerusalem Baptist Church with Pastor Blunt.

Rickie, affectionately known as Rick, was a man that wore many hats; from yard work, cooking, grilling, to playing the drums at different churches. He was a Mr. Fix It. Whatever he put his hands to doing, he did it.

Rickie passed away peacefully on June 7, 2023. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister Na’Tasha Copeland Sutton and a brother Reggie Miller.

He leaves to cherish his memories, his son Jason Sloan (Shaquashia Graham), Valdosta, GA; his sisters Pamela Stokes (Michael), Valdosta, GA, La’Tunda Miller, Jacksonville, FL; one brother Gary Copeland, Valdosta, GA; two grandchildren Jhurni Sloan and Jaisen Sloan, Valdosta, GA; stepmother Idella Miller, Jacksonville, FL; aunts Emma Miller (Moot) and Mary A. Stokes both of Valdosta, GA, Diane S. Mobley and Lillie Pearl Thompson (J.T.) both of Barney, GA; uncles Edward C. Smith (Celica), Columbus, GA, James Miller (Bill), Morven, GA, Alvin Miller, Peekskill, NY and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be Friday, June 9, 2023 at the Stevens-McGhee chapel from 1PM-7PM.

A celebration of life will be Saturday, June 10, 2023 at Union Cathedral Church in Valdosta GA at 3PM with Bishop Wade S. McCrae, officiating. Burial will follow in Salem Baptist Church Cemetery in Barney, GA.
