The Obituary
King Emanuel Hollis, Jr. was born on June 3, 1946 in Dixie, Georgia to the late King and Dorothy Hollis, Sr. He passed away from this earthly life on June 26, 2022.
He was preceded in death by his parents King and Dorothy Hollis, daughter Coretta L. Hollis, brothers Ronald, Danny, Craig, and sisters Frances and Rosalyn.
King attended the Brooks County School system. He worked as a dedicated employee for the Brooks County Road Department where he retired after many years. His hobbies were gardening, fishing and hunting with his brothers. King was married to Joyce Ann Hollis of Quitman, Georgia. He was blessed with five beautiful children, Corretta LaShon Hollis who preceded him in death, Timothy Hollis (Shatoya) of Lithonia, Georgia, Lujuan Hollis (Tasha), Chris Hollis and Darius Hollis all of Quitman, Georgia. He was the proud grandfather of ten grandchildren Tiashjah, Shaqauelia, Timbreshea, Lajuanshea, Lajuan, Jr., Lamarion, Chloe, Damoni, Da’Reya, Da’Ralyn and eight great grandchildren. King is also survived by two brothers and six sisters, Eleanor of Atlanta, Georgia, Elaine and Dorothy Joan of South Carolina, Peggy and Lisa of Quitman, Georgia, Wayne (Carolyn) of Hahira, Georgia, Regina of Valdosta, Georgia and Alex (lndia) of Quitman, Georgia; Sisters-in law Vera of Dixie, Georgia, Frances (Robert), Catherine, Delores and Mary Ann of Quitman, Georgia; brother-in-law Freddie (Linda) of Valdosta, Georgia and he also leaves a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.
A celebration of life will be Saturday, July 2, 2022 at 11AM at Simmon Hill Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery.
