Obituary
Jacqueline Lavern Dyer, was born March 17, 1952, to the late Julian L. Scott, Sr., and Frankie Lane Scott in Dixie, Georgia. She was the fourth of eight children. Jacqueline, affectionally called “Jackie” by her family and friends, had a beautiful smile, a loving heart, and joyous spirit.
“She is a tree of life to those who take hold of her; those who hold her fast will be blessed.” Proverbs 3:18
Jacqueline accepted the Lord as her Savior at a young age and joined Simmon Hill Missionary Baptist Church in Dixie, Georgia. She was educated in the Brooks County School System and was a 1970 graduate of Washington Street High School in Quitman, Georgia. She received an Associate’s Degree in Business from Greenleaf Business College in Atlanta, Georgia. She returned to Quitman, Georgia, to marry her high school sweetheart, William Dyer, Sr.
On June 16, 1971, she was united in holy matrimony to William Dyer, Sr. To their union of 18 years, two sons were born. She was a devoted wife and mother.

On October 1, 2020, our Heavenly Father called Jacqueline to receive her crown of life.
She was preceded in death by her father, Julian L. Scott, Sr.; mother, Frankie L. Scott; brother, Julian L. Scott, Jr.; sister, Gloria Scott Franklin; sister, Sylvia Scott Oates; and grandsons, Kameron Dyer, Ashton Dyer, and Navonte Dyer.
She leaves to cherish her memory: her former husband, William Dyer, Sr., of Sumter, SC; their two sons, William Dyer, Jr., of Valdosta, GA, and Kendrick Dyer (LaShayla) of Valdosta, GA; two granddaughters, Brittany Brister and Alexia Dyer of Valdosta, GA; seven grandsons, Devon Williams of Tampa, FL, Tylin Dyer, Tyndil Dyer, Randy Dyer, Kori Dyer, Tori Dyer, and Kristopher Dyer all of Valdosta, GA; one sister, Carolyn Scott of Albany, GA; three brothers, Robert Scott of Douglas, GA, Virgil Scott, Sr. (Teresa) of Douglas, GA, and Anthony Scott, Sr. (Jeanette) of Albany, GA; one brother-in-law, Terry Oates of Douglas, GA; one uncle, Roger Scott of Dixie, GA; one aunt, Eloise Lane of Quitman, GA; six great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, friends, and classmates.
A private celebration of life will be held on Saturday, October 10, 2020 at 11AM with Rev. James Huewitt, Sr., eulogist. You were my best friend in grade school. I remember all the moments we shared together. You had a unique laughter that no other possessed.
