Obituary For Everett Lee "Bucket" Mitchell

Obituary

Everett “Bucket” Lee Mitchell was born in Quitman, Georgia, to Joseph Mitchell, Jr., and the late Elizabeth Ann Mitchell on March 17, 1962.

He worked for years on Wayne Lane Farm, doing the things that he knew best.

As time progressed, the country boy finally preceded to take up his mantle at home, helping to raise his own animals and being the backup babysitter and the cheapest potty trainer around for a bottle of magnum and a pack of cigarettes. Bucket proved to be a good time; you could never fail to find him riding his lawnmower for miles on end with kids on the trailer and a pack of 6 plus dogs. Bucket will forever be remembered as the friendly, outgoing man on the lawn mower with his bottle of magnum in hand and pack of cigarettes. He never failed to wave or stop and get your attention. No one was a stranger.

He was called to rest on the evening of April 16, 2021, at Pelham ParkWay Nursing Home.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Elizabeth Ann Mitchell, and his brother, Johnny Mitchell.

Bucket leaves to cherish his memories: his wife, Curtinka Mitchell; his dad, Joseph Mitchell; his kids, Everett Lee Cason, Zachary Antonio Mitchell, Antonio Pierre Mitchell, Pamela Delee Mitchell, Laquita Shontae Mitchell, Marcus Lavar Mitchell, and Janika Kierra Mitchell; his siblings, Mary (Horace) Barber, Shirley Mitchell, Alice Mitchell, Nora Mitchell, Mike Mitchell, and Antonio Mitchell; his 19 grandkids; as well as his plethora of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.

Graveside services will be Saturday, April 24, 2021 at 11AM at Mt. Moriah M.B. Church Cemetery with Pastor Sharon Breeden, eulogist. Visitation will be Friday at the Stevens-McGhee Chapel from 3PM-7PM. Continue to keep the family in your daily thoughts and prayers.
