The Obituary
Eric Lenord Herring, Sr. was born December 22, 1975 at Archbold Hospital in Thomasville, GA to Glorian Herring and the late Roosevelt Herring, Jr. He attended Brooks County High School in Quitman, GA. At an early age, he joined First M.B. Church in Barwick, GA.
Eric had several nicknames, “Hammer”, “Forty”, “Dollar Bill”, “Mayor of Barwick” and “Red Foxx”. He loved fishing, listening to old music and riding slow in Barwick. He enjoyed being around his family and friends. He was always talking noise and joking with Allen. He loved dogs. He was Xena’sbabysitter (That’s Kim’s dog). You could always get Eric to tell a joke or say something to make you laugh. He enjoyed hanging out with his Herring and Lamons male cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father Roosevelt Herring, Jr.; two brothers Roosevelt Herring, III and Nelson Herring, Sr. and a son Eric Herring, Jr.
He leaves to cherish his memories, his loving mother Glorian Herring of Barwick, GA; one daughter Erykah Herring of Atlanta, GA; one son JayQwece Herring of Thomasville, GA; one grandson Rome Adams of Thomasville, GA; one sister Rosetta Herring of Barwick, GA; his twin brother Deric Herring, Sr. of Griffin, GA; 11 maternal and paternal aunts and four maternal uncles. He has two special friends Arthur, Jr. of St. Petersburg, FL and James “Hulk” Herring of Quitman, GA and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends from Georgia and Florida.
Visitation will be Friday, May 19, 2023 at the Stevens-McGhee chapel from 1PM-7PM.
Home going services will be Saturday, May 20, 2023 at 11AM at First AB Church in Barwick, GA with Bro. Tony Herring, officiating. Burial will follow in the Barwick Cemetery. Visit this website or our Stevens-McGhee Funeral Home Facebook page to view a livestream of the celebration.
