Obituary For Ella Mae Williams

Mrs. Ella Mae Williams Johnson was born on August 15, 1948 to the late Sally M. Williams and Freddy B. Williams. She departed this life on September 13, 2022 at Archbold Memorial Hospital in Thomasville, Georgia.

Mrs. Ella Mae, affectionately known to family and friends as “Toothpick” was a lifelong resident of Quitman, Georgia. She attended the Brooks County School system. She was well known and well loved by many family members and caring friends and church mates. She was preceded in death by a son, her mother and father; two sisters and three brothers. Her memory will live on forever in the hearts of those who loved her.

She leaves to cherish her memories her loving children Christine Johnson, Quitman, GA, Minnie R. Tate (Nick), Quitman, GA, Victoria B. Thompkins (Willie), Rochelle, GA, Willie C. Phelps, Augusta, GA, Arthur J. Johnson, Quitman, GA, stepdaughter Diane P. El, Jacksonville, FL; four sisters Margaret Hamilton, Quitman, GA, Mary Lane Stubb (Willie), New York, Freddie B.K.A Baby Lois Jordan (Joseph), Jacksonville, FL, Shirley Williams, Gainesville, FL; two brothers Freddy Williams, Quitman, GA, Earnest Williams, Gainesville, FL; 19 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren, one great great grandchild; two special/devoted friends Donna Jones, Pat Hawkins and a host of special nieces, nephews, cousins and friends including Rev. Willie McCloud, a close friend of the family.

Visitation will be Saturday, September 24, 2022 at the Stevens-McGhee Funeral Home chapel from 10AM-7PM.
