Mr. E.K. Hadley was born January 13, 1937 in Quitman, Georgia to Lilier Mae Hadley and Eddie Hadley, Sr. He attended the local schools in Brooks County. He accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Pineview Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, including infant, John Hadley, Eddie Hadley, Jr., Rockie Hadley, Alexander Hadley, and one sister, Susie Edwards. At the age of 20 he began his career with Superior Construction. He retired after more than 45 years of service. He leaves to mourn; one son, Edwin “Jett” Haynes (Elnora), Jacksonville, FL; three daughters, Helen “Peaches” Cooper (Joe), Columbus, GA, Suzette Hadley, Alachua, FL, and Yooshiki (Yosh) Hadley, Palm Coast, FL; eleven grandchildren, Jennifer Haynes, Dominique Haynes, Devin Haynes, Raymond Lance II, Dominique Lance, Stanaria Richardson, Tiana Richardson, Alea Richardson, Ieshia Anderson, Stacey Anderson and Titerian Fields; six great grand- children; three sisters, Charlotte Bryant, Clearwater, FL, Pauline Payton (Charlie), St. Petersburg, FL and Shellie Jean Moore (Norman), Valdosta, GA and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and dear friends.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, November 1, 2014 at Pineview Freewill Church with Pastor Willie Boatman, Jr. Pastor and Rev. Eddie Hadley, III, officiating. Burial was followed in the Pineview Freewill Church Cemetery. Stevens-McGhee Funeral Home in Quitman, GA was in charge of the arrangements.
