Deacon Charles W. Wyche "Boo Wyche", 80
Charles Wesley Wyche “Boo Wyche”, was born to the late Charles Williams and Addie Wyche on June 20, 1940. At an early age, he joined the Beulah Hill Missionary Baptist Church until his demise on October 9, 2020. In the late 70’s, Charles worked at the Simmon Hill Elementary School as a custodian. After 8 years, he then started his career at the bus barn in Quitman. First as a mechanic and shortly after as a bus driver and transportation director. He drove bus 27 and referred to the kids on his bus as “his children”. He worked faithfully for 49 years until he retired due to failing health.
He was known for his green thumb and timeliness. He was a member of the men’s club and coached soft ball. He loved his church and served in many capacities in the Brooks County Union, the Brooks County Association and the BTU Congress.
Dea. Charles Wyche leaves to cherish his memory his beloved and devoted wife of 61 years, his Lou/Lucy, Geraldine Wyche; daughter Janice (James) Siler; sons Jeffery Wyche (Peggy Sirmans – friend), and Willie Charles Clemons; adopted daughter Maggie Newsome; grandchildren Tamara Siler, James Siler (Warren Heilman), Chotney Yearby, Shelcy Siler; great grandchildren Daniel Moore Jr, Nosaj Yearby, and Nevaeh Siler; siblings Mildred (Chillie) Holsendolph, Tommy (Perline) Wyche, Argenetta (Chico) Poellintz, Floyd Wyche (Mary Ann) deceased, Jimmy Wyche; special sister-in-law Doris Wyche and a host of relatives and friends.
Private services were Saturday, October 17, 2020 at 1:00 P.M. at Beulah Hill Cemetery in Dixie, Georgia with Rev. Alonza Fudge officiating. Condolences may be shared and services are available via video stream at stevensmcgheefuneralhome.com and Stevens-McGhee Funeral Home on Facebook. Stevens-McGhee Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
