Amos Lewis Thomas, Sr. a.k.a. Sugar Boy was born on
March 4, 1947 in Miami, Florida to the late Willie Mae Everett and Tim Thomas.
He graduated from the Brooks County School system. He did piece work in New York City and was also employed by railroads companies and agriculture work on farms.
In July 18, 1968, he was united in holy matrimony to Emma Jean Stewart.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Rufus Thomas; daughter, Pauline Haggins and brother, Ernest L. Everett.
He leaves to cherish his memories, his wife, Emma Jean Thomas; children, Amos L. Thomas, Jr., Eugene Thomas, Andy Booker (Vicki), and Patrika Jenkins; ten grandchildren; six great grands and two great great grands; a special granddaughter, Crystal Spencer; two special grandsons, Eugene Thomas, Jr. and Christopher Thomas; siblings, Connie Everett, Lorene Everett, Agnes Everett, Calvin Everett, and Mary Dean Lilly; a host of nieces and nephews, cousins, friends; a special niece, Carmelita Samuel; a special caretaker, Tammy Burris and Isha Akery.
Home going services will be Saturday, January 25, 2025 at 1PM at the Boston Cemetery. Livestream will be available on this website as well as our Stevens-McGhee Funeral Home Facebook page.
