Mary Katherine McKinnon was born on January 9, 1961 in Valdosta, GA to the late Mr. Booker T. McKinnon and Mrs. Onedia McKinnon.
Mary graduated from Lowndes High School. Mary worked at Langdale Place as a personal care assistant and worked for the Lowndes County Transportation Department for 15 years as a bus driver.
On Monday, January 20, 2025 at South Georgia Medical Center, Mary was granted eternal rest.
Mary is preceded in death by her parents, Booker T. and Onedia McKinnon; one brother, Jerry McKinnon and one sister, Louise McKinnon Battle.
Mary leaves to cherish her memories to her two children, Larry Pye and Christine Hughley both of Valdosta, GA; one granddaughter, Areontae Boyd of Valdosta, GA; five siblings, Katherine Anderson (Curtis), Larry McKinnon (Brenda), Michael McKinnon, Marlene McDuffie (Leroy) and Larenda Howell all of Valdosta, GA; also a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
The celebration of life service will be held Saturday, February 1, 2025 at 11:00 A.M. at Woodlawn Forrest Church of Christ, 1515 North Barack Obama Boulevard, Valdosta, GA 31601. Bro. LeRoy Butler, Jr., Minister, Bro. Andre Norwood, Officiating. Burial will follow in the Pallbearers Cemetery.
Public viewing will be held Friday, January 31, 2025 from 2:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
The celebration of life service will be live streamed on the funeral home Facebook & YouTube Page (Stevens Funeral Home - Valdosta, GA).
