Mr. Willie Lee Bethea, Sr., 69, of Waycross, GA transitioned on May 5, 2024 at Memorial Satilla Hospital in Waycross, Georgia.
Visitation will be held Saturday, May 18th from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Funeral service will be held Sunday, May 19th at 1:00 P.M. at Macedonia Baptist Church, with Committal services to follow in Oakland Cemetery. Repast will be held at Macedonia Church Social Hall.
On May 5, 2024, God called home one of his precious servants, Mr. Willie Lee Bethea, Sr. Mr. Bethea was born on November 11, 1954 to the parentage of Mrs. Rosa Lee Bethea and the Late Hollisfield Bethea, Sr. in Waycross, Georgia. He has lived in the city of Waycross since 1954 where he profess Christianity as his faith. Mr. Bethea attended Macedonia Missionary Bpatist Church of Waycross, Georgia when he wanted hear a word from the Lord. He was a cook for Maryland Fried Chicken since 1969 and made many friends.
Mr. Bethea was a loving, caring father, and friend. He welcome everyone to his home. Loved cooking, fishing and spending time with his love ones. To everyone that know him, called him “Legend”. The greatest of all. One of his favorite sayings,”That what your mouth say”.
He leaves to cherish his precious memories his lovely wife, Beverly Bethea; his children, Shameka Davis, Travis Foster (Trinisha), Patricia Bethea, Willie Bethea, Jr. (Latisha), and Anthony Bethea (Delacia).; his one sister, Gloria Bethea; his four brothers, Kenneth Bethea (Martha Ann), William Bethea (Veronica), David Bethea (Lois), and Steven Bethea; his 14 grandchildren, and 12 great grandchildren; his special friends, Debra Wells, George Tyson, Joseph Simon and a host of other sorrowing relatives and friends.
Please keep this family lifted up in prayer during this difficult time.

I worked with Mr Willie at Marylands for many years .He was a good friend and always had a kind word .he was a good hearted man .He will truly be missed .I'm praying for his family and friends .

To my big brother Willie, you were the one who taught me to hunt and fish. You use take me with you all the time when I was a little boy growing up. Really enjoyed those days.
