Lucious Gaines, affectionately called Billy by his family and friends, was born on February 20, 1939, in Tallahassee, Florida Deacon Joe Williams and Florida Rollins. Billy attended the public schools of Leon County, Florida. While residing in Tallahassee, he was employed by his father in his business, Florida Janitorial Service. Upon moving to Clearwater, Florida, Billy was employed as a roofer for Dean’s Roofing Company. Billy was of the Baptist faith. Lucious “Billy” Gaines departed this earthly life on Saturday, January 4, 2020, under Hospice care in Palm Harbor, Florida. Billy is predeceased by his father, Deacon Joe Williams, mother, Florida Rollins, aunt, Sallie Mae Carney and brother, Johnny Rollins, Sr. Cherished memories will be treasured by…eight daughters, Sheryl Campbell of Columbia, TN, Jackie Gaines of SC, Lucretia Gaines of Perry, FL, Chandra Gaines of Clearwater, FL, Debra Louise Gaines-Nelson of Perry, FL, Debra Charise Gaines-White of Davenport, FL, Naseera Pitts of Alexandria, VA and Marvella Pitts of Blakely, GA; his ex-wife and longtime friend, Yvonne Gaines; sisters, Delores Bullard (Conrad) of SC, Joyce Rollins and Debra Williams, both of Tallahassee, FL; a special adoptive daughter, Renece Gainer of Panama City, FL; grandchildren, Aisha Campbell, Stephen Campbell, Latoya Sneed, Elder Michael Sneed (Laura), Cinque Jackson, Kenyata Sanders, Dalretia Ross, Ternia Ross, Zion Burnning, Zavier Gaines, Keith White, II and Asia Speight; devoted and loving friends, Joyce Harris, Bill Cobb, Darius Jones and Rick Lewis; and a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Funeral services 11:00 AM Saturday, January 11, 2020 at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, 2751 Sunset Point Road, Clearwater 33759. Visitation on Friday Jan.10 at FH.
