Carla Renee Floyd was born on February 27, 1969 in Clearwater, Florida to the late Johnnie Mae Floyd and the late Robert Hipps, and departed this life on Saturday, December 30, 2023
Renee attended elementary schools in Pinellas County, Florida until 1980 when her mother relocated her young family to Alabama and she continued her education in the public schools of Macon County, Alabama.
At an early age, she became affiliated with the Baptist faith and sang in the Youth Choir at the Mt. Andrews Baptist Church in Tuskegee, Alabama.
Renee moved back to Clearwater, Florida in 1989 and began her working career. For the past twenty five years, she worked in the field of hospitality and tourism, and at the time of her demise, she was currently employed by Holiday Inn Express & Suites in Largo, Florida.
She enjoyed reading, watching television, spending time with family and spoiling her cats, Bosco and Jamie.
Left to cherish her memories are: McKenzie Angel Floyd, who she was legal guardian of, One sister: K. Denice Pina of Miami, Fl., Four brothers: Michael Floyd, Clearwater, Fl.., Aaron Floyd, Polk City, Fl., David Floyd, Largo, Florida, Wayne Floyd, Sumpterville, Fl. and Malik Salam of Clearwater, Fl., and many loving uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews, other special relatives and caring friends.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, January 13, 2024, 11:00 AM at St. John Missionary Baptist Church, 1500 Pennsylvania Ave. Clearwater, Florida with family receiving friends on Friday, January 12, 2024 5-7 PM at Smith-Young Funeral Home 1005 Howard St. Clearwater, Florida.
You always called to check on me always made sure I knew I had someone in my corner.never failed to make me laugh always there if I needed to vent.rest easy my darlin I know you will be waiting for me on the other side.
We thought of you with love today, But that is nothing new. We thought about you yesterday And days before that, too. We think of you in silence. We often speak your name.
