Obituary For Ms. Shelia Ann Gaddy

Sheila Ann Spencer Gaddy, the daughter of the late Napoleon and Mary Tillman Spencer was born October 13, 1951 in Anson County.

On Sunday, March 20, 2022, her late mother's birthday, Sheila spread her wings and took her flight to Glory.

Sheila Ann Spencer Gaddy grew up in the Pee Dee Community of Anson County and graduated from Bowman Senior High School in 1969.

Sheila confessed Christ as her Personal Savior at an early age and joined Womble Chapel A.M.E. Zion Church. Under the leadership of her mother, she served multiple roles within the church. She was a faithful and hard worker for God, serving wherever she was needed. After the closure of Womble Chapel A.M.E. Zion Church, Sheila joined New Birth Missionary Baptist. Sheila served faithfully, worshiping and praising God. Although Sheila was quiet, she did not hesitate when she was asked to serve or perform duties in church.

Sheila Ann Spencer Gaddy had such a sweet spirit and will truly be missed by all that knew her. She loved everybody.

Sheila Ann Spencer Gaddy was preceded in death by her parents, Napoleon and Mary Tillman Spencer, her sister and best friend Linda Faye Spencer, brothers, Marvin Dockery, William Earnest Spencer, Walter Spencer, Jr. and Elijah Sweeney, Jr. and one nephew, Napoleon Dwann Spencer.

She leaves to cherish her memories and carry on her legacy, two daughters, Lechelle (Geemo) Henry of Rockingham, NC and Catherine (Devoris) Little of Mt Gilead, NC; three sons she raised, Hubert (Tamika) Gaddy of Charlotte, NC, Anthony (Emaily) Johnson of Rockingham, NC and Antonio Johnson of the home; bonus daughters, Patricia Spencer, Regina Spencer and Nicolette Spencer of Lilesville, NC; seven grandchildren, Clizza (Brandon) Gaddy, Sheila (Jabarius) Sturdivant, Lyric Johnson, LaVontae Gardner, Vantray Gaddy, Kar-mani Gaddy, Journee Gaddy; seven great-grandchildren; three sisters, Dorothy Ann (Rev. Chris) Smith, Carolyn (Clyde) Dockery McCoy of Rockingham, NC and Mary Ella Leach of Queens, NY; four brothers, Larry (Althea) Swinnie, Preston L. Spencer, Johnnie (Vontella) Spencer and Michael (Tonya) Spencer of Rockingham, NC; three aunts, Ineda Terry and Roberta Tillman of Lilesville, NC and Johnsie Tillman of Wadesboro, NC; special nephews Christopher Smith, Jr and Ikema (Samantha) Smith; a longtime companion and friend, David Covington of Rockingham, NC; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Sheila loved her dogs Roko and JoJo. They sat by her side daily. Roko and Jojo will miss her dearly.

The Homegoing Services will be on Saturday, March 26, 2022, 3:00pm, New Birth Baptist Church, Hamlet, North Carolina. Interment will follow at Richmond Memorial Gardens, Rockingham, North Carolina.

The Gaddy Family will greet family and friends on Saturday, March 26, 2022 from 2:30-3:00pm at New Birth Baptist Church.

The public viewing will be on Friday, March 25, 2022 from 4:00-6:00pm at Smith's Funeral Home, 604 Salisbury Street, Wadesboro, North Carolina.
