Diane Sharry Spencer, known to her family and friends as “Sharry”, was born to the late Elizabeth Liles Spencer- “Lib Liles”, and Richard H. Spencer in Anson County, Wadesboro, NC, on July 31, 1951. She departed this life on Saturday, March 15, 2025, at the age of 73.
She confessed Christ at an early age. She was dedicated and committed to the Raleigh Rescue Mission in Raleigh, North Carolina. She was a writer and published the book “The Storm is Over”. Sharry loved her family, and she loved to take pictures. You could not out-argue her about the bible because she studied every version of the bible and knew her scriptures.
She lived in Raleigh for years and decided to move back to her hometown to care for her mother; after caring for her mother, she took care of her brother Richard until his ending days. Sharry graduated Summa cum laude from Ohio Christian University for her bachelor’s and master’s degrees. She loved to read, and she loved her family. She took special care and dedication to her niece Shannon and “The boys.” If you heard her talk often, she would mention her girls and her boys, especially King. She only had one son who she loved so much and was so proud of all his accomplishments. Her grandgirls were her pride and joy. She took pride in being a grandmother to her sugars.
She is now united with her brothers, Carnel Spencer, Richard L. Spencer, and her sisters, Barbara Ann Spencer, and Kelly Tracy Spencer who preceded her in death.
She leaves to cherish “her sugar”, Sean Sextur Spencer, Indian Trail, NC and her niece, Shannon Spencer’Pickett (Travis) of Indian Trail, NC.
One sister, Sheila Spencer Whitehurst (Kenneth), and her brothers, Shelton Rodney Spencer (Brenda), and Joey Byrone Spencer(Deborah). Grandchildren: Kristina Phuthama, Khamani Spencer, and Kamryn Spencer. Please know that my thoughts are with you and your family during this incredibly difficult time. I hope you find comfort in the memories you shared and the love that surrounds you.
Sending my deepest condolences to the family! I remember being around 6 or 7 at cheer camps at harvest and Ms. Sharry would always walk around taking pictures and smiling with her contagious smile. A smile that could light up any room! Over the years she would never fail to either ask about me or congratulate me on my accomplishments. She always made it known that she loved not only me like family but any cheerleader that coach Shangna had from "Wadesboro Trojans" to "KEA". Ms. Sharry you will be missed deeply but I know you are taking some wonderful pictures in Heaven! -Wykeria Little

My sincere condolences to the Spencer family. May God lift your spirits and give you peace in the time of need. Sharry was my classmate of 1969 and a dear friend.
I remember the sunny days spent with Aunt Sharry, practicing in the hot sun, our laughter echoing as we worked hard together. I remember we would work hard and have her come outside to watch what we had come up with so far, and even if it was just still in a working progress she'd always congratulate us and tell us it looked good. After our sessions, we would retreat to her basement for lunch, enjoying the delicious meals she always prepared with love. She had a heart of gold, always giving and caring for others, making everyone feel special and cherished. Her warmth and kindness left a lasting impression on my life, and I will always hold those memories close to my heart. Aunt Sharry truly was a remarkable lady, and I feel so grateful to have had her in my life. love you bunches "suga"! I want to extend my condolences and prayers to Coach and the family during this difficult time.
