Cantranece Debrena Rorie was born on September 12, 1992 and departed peacefully on Monday Morning, March 4, 2024 in the loving arms of her family. Known to everyone as “Chick”, a nickname given to her by her Father as she arrived at a little over 2 lbs as an early preemie in a yellow onesie. Cantranece fought valiantly until the end, blowing her family a whisper of the sweetest kiss as she gained her wings and answered the call to be with Jesus.
“Chick” started her education at the Happy Days Daycare in Marshville, NC, where Ms. Cindy was happy to learn how to care for her and love her. Cantranece stayed in the baby room assisting her teacher way too long after she had outgrown the baby room. She showed an aptitude for Math and Problem Solving at an early age.
Cantranece attended Union County Public Schools from Pre-K through Graduation. She graduated from Forest Hills High School as a member of the class of 2010. Cantranece also obtained her associate degree from SPCC as a High School Senior during this time for CNA I and II as she had dreams of becoming a nurse. Ms. Cantranece D. Rorie graduated from the University of NC at Greensboro (UNCG) with a B.S. Degree in Sociology.
Cantranece still had a longing for the nursing field, so she went back to school and received her Licensed Practical Nurse Certification from ECPI University and started practicing in 2019. Again, Cantranece dazzled her professors and they took a personal interest in her career and goals. Chickie loved being an LPN and expressed her love of nursing through her care for her residents. Cantranece was in school and studying to be a Registered Nurse when the health challenges started. She pressed on. Cantranece was employed by Monroe Rehabilitation Center in Monroe, NC and preferred the 3rd Shift where her patients liked to stay up and hang out with her. She also worked as a Travel Nurse, visiting different locations around the area and working extra shifts on her days off from Monroe Rehab. Chick was known to be a hard worker and dependable and often called upon by her Superiors to assist with patient care.
Ms. Cantranece Debrena Rorie was preceded in death by her Grandparents, Clarence and Hattie and Rorie, Lizzie Jane McDonald Simon, Joe Louis Duncan, Paul and Nannie Thomas, and James and Beulah Duncan.
