Obituary For Ms. Ashley Huntley

Ashley Nicole Huntley FOUGHT a good fight, she always KEPT her faith and she has FINISHED her course. Ashley was born on May 25, 1996, to the late Horace Huntley Jr., and Madie Hudson Huntley in Rockingham, North Carolina. She departed this earthly life for her Heavenly Home and to meet her earthly father on September 30, 2023, at Atrium Health-Carolinas Medical Center, Charlotte, North Carolina.

Ashley confessed Christ at an early age and was a member at Parsons Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Lilesville, NC. During her earlier years at Parsons Grove Missionary Baptist Church she was on the youth choir. She was baptized under the leadership of Pastor Henry McNeil.

On December 30, 2010, Ashley gave birth to her Lifeline, Ja’Marion Huntley.

Ashley was diagnosed at the age of ten years old with Type 1 Diabetes. Even after this critical condition, she never gave up and graduated from Anson High School in 2014. During High School, she was employed by Food Lion in Wadesboro, NC. After graduation she enrolled in SPCC. Shortly after she was employed by Corner Stone Treatment Facility in Wadesboro, NC. Even throughout her illness, Ashley enrolled in RCC to pursue a certification in Nursing Assistant due to her dream of helping others. She was ill the day of her state exams and hospitalized, but as soon as she was discharged she went to take her state exam. She exceeded her expectations and passed on the first try. After becoming certified, she was employed by Shipman Family Home Care in Rockingham, NC until her health declined.

She was preceded in death by her Father, Horace Huntley Jr., Grandfather, Horace Huntley Sr., Aunt, Lora Bittle and Niece, Mahogany.

She leaves to cherish her loving memories: her son, Ja’Marion Huntley of the home; her mother, Madie Huntley of Morven, NC; grandparents, James and Elizabeth Hudson of Lilesville, NC, grandmother, Juanita Huntley of Morven, NC; sister, Takeda (Thomas) LeGrand of Wingate, NC, brother, Marcus Huntley of Morven, NC, sister, Latoya (Jamison) Quick of Hamlet, NC; nephew, Nasir Leak of Hamlet, NC, nieces, Trinity and Taylor LeGrand of Wingate, NC, Aubrey Little-Huntley of Greensboro, NC, Lillian-Grace and Angel Quick of Hamlet, NC; aunts, Marion Miller of Wingate, NC, Gloria Wall of Polkton, NC, Dinnetta (Tony) Carelock and Brenda Sellers of Wadesboro, NC, Dorothy Little of Charlotte, NC, Sarah Bridges of Winston Salem, NC, Larzetta (Howard) Ross and Wanda (James) Scott of Morven, NC, Cynthia Wright of Albemarle, NC, and Robin Cason of Wadesboro, NC; uncles, Robert Hudson, Horace (Joyce) Hudson and James (Sandy) Hudson of Wadesboro, Willy (Cathy) Hudson of Morven, NC, Timothy (Sandra) Hudson of Monroe, NC, and Darion (Dianne) Hudson of Polkton, NC, Antonio Huntley of Morven, NC, Michael (Janet) Huntley of Albemarle, NC and David Cason of Wadesboro, NC; special aunts, Gloria, Marion, Larzetta, and Wanda; special friends/cousins, Candace, Lasha and Crystal; a host of great uncles, great aunts and cousins.

The Services to Celebrate Ashley's life will be on Sunday, October 8, 2023, 3:00pm, Parson Grove Missionary Baptist Church, Lilesville, North Carolina. Interment will be in the family plot of the Church Cemetery.

The Huntley family will greet family and friends on Sunday, October 8, 2023 from 2:30-3:00pm at Parson Grove Missionary Baptist Church.

The public viewing will be on Saturday, October 7, 2023 from 4:30-6:30pm at Smith's Funeral Home.
