Mrs. Teresa A. Davis, affectionately by all as “T.A.”, was born in Smithfield, NC (Johnston County) on October 24, 1957, to the parents of the late Fletcher and Pauline Williams. T.A. peacefully departed this world on Sunday, February 12, 2023, at Atrium Health-Union, Monroe, NC.
Teresa was the 6th of 12 children. She attended the public schools of Johnston County, NC and graduated from North Johnston High School, Kenly, NC. Teresa went on to join the Navy and was stationed at various locations throughout the continental U.S. She met and married, the love of her life, James Davis Sr. while stationed in New Orleans, LA. She and James later transferred to San Diego, CA where she retired as a YN1/E6 after 20 years of service. She was active in the Eastern Stars serving as Worthy Matron under St. Peters Grand Lodge. Just seven years ago, she and James relocated to Wadesboro, NC to enjoy their retirement away from the hustle and bustle of military life in San Diego.
Teresa was preceded in death, in addition to her parents, by a son, Pierre Williams, two brothers – Larry D. Williams and Paul C. Williams and two sisters: Ancie Davis and Helen Williams.
Those left to celebrate Teresa’s life include her husband, James Davis, Sr.; son, Derek Williams; 13 grandchildren; three brothers, Fletcher Williams, Jr. (Karin) of Crestview, FL, James Williams (Christine) of Portales, NM and Maurice Williams of Charlotte, NC; four sisters, Mary Williams of Charlotte, NC, Donna Williams of Pine Level, NC, Marie Mitchell of Baltimore, MD and Cathy Williams of Wilson, NC; one brother-in-law, Clarence Davis, Sr. of Laplace, LA, a host of nieces and nephews, and other relatives and friends.
A Memorial Service To Honor The Life, Legacy and Service of Mrs. Davis will be on Friday, February 24, 2023, 12:00 noon, Smith's Memorial Chapel, 604 Salisbury Street, Wadesboro, North Carolina.
