Above all else, Carrie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and as well as an outstanding colleague and faithful friend to many. Carrie took very special care of her mother, Mary Henrietta Parsons. She was the primary caretaker for her in her latter years and, with the support of her siblings, was instrumental in assuring that her medical and various needs were fulfilled. Carrie had a magnetic personality that made her known for being loving, sweet, soft-spoken and stern. She will be missed for her sense of humor and dedication to her family, church family, and all who knew her.
Carrie Parsons Coletrane, was born to the late Lonzo and Mary Henrietta Parsons, March 17, 1956. Carrie went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, September 17, 2024.
Carrie was a proud graduate of Bowman Senior High, Class of 1974. She worked at Wadesboro Manufacturing Company and Glenn of Morven, North Carolina. Her work ethic enabled her to have her two youngest siblings work at the Wadesboro Mfg. Co. during the summer months, providing them with funds to attend college.
Carrie also sang with the Pilgrim Starletts, comprised of sisters and friends of the Pilgrim Stars-a group formed by her brothers and friends of the family.
She confessed Christ at an early age and was a faithful member of Parson Grove Missionary Baptist Church. During her tenure at Parson Grove, she served as a dedicated member of the Sunday School and Senior Choir Department. She also served alongside her husband, Reverend Dr. Gregory Coletrane in ministry at Chilson Grove, Henry Grove, and Covington Missionary Baptist Church.
On April 21, 1984, she was joined in Holy Matrimony to Reverend Dr. Irvin Gregory Coletrane. From this union was born a son, Phillip Irvin Coletrane.
Carrie was predeceased by her parents, Lonzo and Henrietta Parsons of Lilesville, NC, a sister, Prophetess Lou Etta Parsons McCray (Wilson, Apostle) of Albany, GA, and a brother, Rev. Dr. Alonzo A. Parsons (Elaine) of Chester, VA.
Carrie leaves to cherish her memories her husband, Rev. Dr. Irvin Gregory Coletrane, her son, Phillip Irvin Coletrane, and daughter-in-law, Stephanie Coletrane, as well as her two grandsons, Chaner Coletrane and Chandler Summers.
Carrie is also survived by close family including her siblings: Pastor Lennon Parson (Minister Shirley) of Indian Trail, NC; Pastor Eddie S. Parsons (First Lady Wanda) of Monroe, NC; Pastor Patricia Parson Cole (the late Pastor Samuel R. Cole, Sr.) of Wadesboro, NC; Apostle Dr. Ronnie L. Parson (First Lady Rubina) of Harrisburg, NC, Alice Parsons Gatewood (Daniel) of Albemarle, NC; and Minister Paul A. Parsons (Adrianne) of Raleigh, NC; mother-in-law, Shirley Coletrane; sister-in-law, Apostle Frenchy Coletrane Medley (Larry).
She also leaves to cherish her memories nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews, cousins as well as aunts and uncles. She was especially close with her niece, Rachel Cole βthe daughter she never had.β

To The Family,
Please Accept My Heartfelt Condolences. Truly the loss of a precious loved one is most difficult. Please find comfort in the promise our most loving Heavenly Father Jehovah God gives us in Revelation 21:4"And He will wipe out every tear from their eyes and death will be no more; neither will mourning; nor outcry; not pain be anymore. The former things have passed away." Yes, We can look forward to a time soon to come when all suffering including death will be done away with forever.
