Mr. Jettie Bowman departed this life for his eternal home on Wednesday, January 5, 2022 at Atrium Health-Anson, Wadesboro, NC. Mr. Bowman was born April 2, 1944 in Anson County, NC to the late Booker T. Little and the late Iller Bowman Young. Mr. Bowman attended Meltonville Baptist Church in Peachland, NC in his early years. He attended the public schools of Anson County and graduated from East Polkton High School. Jettie worked in the logging industry for over 25 years. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, James Howard. He leaves to cherish his memory a loving and dear friend for over 40 years, Mrs. Mary Alice Smith of the home. Six sons, Tristian Bowman (Terri) of Marshville, NC, Jettie Bowman Jr. of Salisbury, NC, Joel Bowman of Charlotte, NC, William Smith, Terry Smith and Ronnie Smith all of Wadesboro, NC. Six daughters, Debra Sturdivant, Johnnie Miller, Dorothy (Mitchell) Smith, Letitia (Lamont) Joines all of Wadesboro, NC, Marcia (Lamont) Davis of Concord, NC and Connie (Eddie) Davis of Cheraw, SC. Six sisters, Ida Wilson of New Haven, Connecticut, Daisy Barrino, Jackie Howard, Hazel (Robert) Coward all of Shelby, NC and Ethel Howard of Charlotte, NC. Three brothers, Floyd Howard of Atlanta, Georgia, Thomas Howard of Charlotte, NC and Clint Ingram of Wadesboro, NC. Aunts and Uncles, Sallie Ann Bennett, Tina Cunningham, Edna Bowman, Charles White, Jerry Bowman and David Bennett. Three sisters-in-law, Karen Howard, Nannie Tyson and Donnie Denise (William) Smith; two brothers-in-law, Frankie Hall and Ronnie Hall. Thirty-one (31) grandchildren and thirty-three (33) great grandchildren with three (3) special granddaughters that he raised as his very own, Keisha Smith, Daja Davis and Jasmine Joines. Two precious and dear great granddaughters whom he loved dearly, Ja’Niyah Jones and N’Keia Davis. Two special nieces, Angela Hall and Renee Peguese; a special great niece, Kayla Hall. The Homegoing Services were held on Tuesday, January 11, 2022, 1:00pm, Smith's Memorial Chapel, 604 Salisbury Street, Wadesboro, North Carolina. Interment followed in Williams Cemetery, Polkton, North Carolina.
