Obituary For Mr. Henry Lee Gaddy

Henry Lee Gaddy, son of the late William D. Gaddy and Daisy Rorie Gaddy was born January 18, 1956, in Wadesboro, North Carolina.

Henry attended school in North Carolina and graduated from Frederick Douglass High School in Baltimore, Maryland.

Henry was the youngest of nine children. He departed this life on February 6, 2022, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland. Being raised in a Christian home Henry found Christ at an early age. As a child he was a member of the West Deep Creek Baptist Church in Wadesboro, North Carolina. Upon relocation to Baltimore, Maryland he attended Gethsemane Baptist Church.

Henry Gaddy was briefly enlisted in the United State Army and retired with 25 years of service as a Special Security Officer. Henry greeted everyone with his favorite saying “SAY” and a handshake with a smile. He bought laughter and humor to all who encountered him. Henry lived for a good card game with his family and watching sports on television was his favorite.

He was proceeded in death by his daughter, Towanda P. Smith and three sisters Geneva Gaddy, Rev. Daisy Townsend, and Mae Helen Gaddy.

He leaves to cherish his memory two granddaughters Destiny and Shinay Smith of Baltimore, Maryland, two sisters Dorothy Jones and Bernice Burns of Baltimore, Maryland; four brothers James W. Gaddy, Charles Gaddy of Wadesboro, North Carolina, Fred Gaddy of Baltimore, Maryland, and Samuel Sturdivant of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; one Aunt Virginia Gaddy of Wadesboro, North Carolina, two uncles Ken W. Gaddy of Washington, D.C. and James Rorie of Wadesboro, North Carolina two special nephews Mark Thomas and James Q. Townsend of Baltimore, Maryland one goddaughter Juliette Townsend and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

The Homegoing Services will be on Friday, February 18, 2022, 12:00 noon, Smith's Memorial Chapel, 604 Salisbury Street, Wadesboro, North Carolina. Interment will be in the Gaddy Family Plot of Deep Creek Missionary Baptist Church, Wadesboro, North Carolina.
