Obituary For Mr. Charles Gaddy
Charles Gaddy, son of the late William D. Gaddy and Daisy Rorie Gaddy was born October 23, 1942 in Wadesboro, North Carolina. He was called to rest on March 1, 2023 at Atrium Health-Union, Monroe, North Carolina.
Raised in a Christian home, Charles found Christ at an early age. He grew up in West Deep Creek Missionary Baptist Church where at one time he served on the Trustee Board.
Charles was employed at Smith Electrical Services for many years. After retirement, he continued to use his electrical skills to serve the people in Anson County. Charles never met a stranger. He would often visit Wadesboro IGA and Lady Bug Restaurant where he had many conversations with whomever crossed his path.
He was a member of Deep Creek Lodge #382 of the Prince Hall Masonic family.
He was preceded in death by three sisters, Geneva Gaddy, Rev. Daisy Townsend and Mae Helen Gaddy, and one brother, Henry Lee Gaddy.
He leaves to cherish his memories with three daughters, Elizabeth Johnson of Charlotte, North Carolina, Victoria Copeland of Wadesboro, North Carolina and Lilly Gaddy of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. One son, Tobias McLendon of Wadesboro, North Carolina. A host of grandchildren. Two sisters, Dorothy Jones and Bernice Burns of Baltimore, Maryland. Three brothers, James W. Gaddy of Wadesboro, North Carolina, Fred (Ethel) Gaddy of Baltimore, Maryland and Samuel Sturdivant of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. One aunt, Virginia Gaddy of Wadesboro, North Carolina. Two uncles, Ken W. Gaddy of Washington, D.C. and James Rorie of Wadesboro, North Carolina. A host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
The Homegoing Services will be on Tuesday, March 7, 2023, 2:00pm, Smith's Memorial Chapel, 604 Salisbury Street, Wadesboro, North Carolina. Interment will be in the Gaddy Family Plot of the West Deep Creek Baptist Church Cemetery, Wadesboro, North Carolina.
