Dorothy Belle Woodburn, a daughter of Robert W. and Dora Elizabeth Woodburn, was born on March 20, 1921. She peacefully gained her wings on Friday, April 5, 2024 at her home in Smyrna, Georgia.
She was a graduate of Anson County Training School, Wadesboro, North Carolina.
She joined Deep Creek Baptist Church as a child and remained until moving away. One of the highlights of her life was coming home for Homecoming and Revival on the Second Sunday in August until she was no longer able to do so.
She was a domestic worker for several years before entering into the textile industry.
She leaves to cherish her memories a daughter, Cheryl Woodburn of Smyrna, Georgia. Two sons, Zadek Woodburn (Betty) of Morven, North Carolina and Jarvis T. Woodburn (Christine) of Wadesboro, North Carolina. One sister, Mattie R. Harper of Brooklyn, New York. Six grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, five great great grandchildren as well as a number of nieces and nephews.
Graveside Services for Mother Woodburn will be on Friday, April 12, 2024, 1:00pm, West Deep Creek Missionary Baptist Church, Wadesboro, North Carolina.
The public viewing will be on Thursday, April 11, 2024 from 3:30-5:30pm at Smith's Funeral Home.
