Flora B. Story, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, peacefully passed away at her home on Friday, June 14, 2024, at the age of 91. Born on October 18, 1932, to the late Hubert and Thelma Hayes Stevenson. Flora lived a life full of love, faith, and dedication to others.

Flora accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of Pleasant Union Baptist Church of Logantown. Later, she united with First Baptist Church Danville where she was a dedicated servant.

Flora received her education in the Lincoln County School System and a Dress Making diploma from the West Kentucky Vocational School, Paducah, Kentucky in 1953.

For 18 years, Flora worked in the Alterations Department at The Hub Frankel and dedicated over 65 years to sewing for the public from her home.

Flora was also known for her love of walking and could often be seen walking all over Danville to anywhere she needed to go.

Flora was a humble and selfless person and gave to others putting their needs before her own. Her acts of kindness and compassion touched the lives of many.

Flora was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Story, two brothers, Rev. John R. Stevenson and William T. Stevenson. She is survived by her daughter, Paulette Story Churchill (Tommy), and her two sons, Anthony T. Story and Paul Story, Jr. She will also be deeply missed by her grandchildren, Nikki Southerland (Dewayne), Keshia Story, Jae-Paul Jones, Manuel Story and Derrick Anderson, as well as her great-grandchildren, Jared Southerland, Keelan Story, Zay Story, Kenleigh Story, Zander Story, Lincoln Story, Raven Anderson, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family.

She will be remembered for her unwavering faith, her dedication to her church, her family, and generous spirit. She leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness.
