Clyde Gregory Simpson, 69, was called to his eternal rest on Wednesday, September 18, 2024, at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington, Ky.
Clyde Gregory Simpson was born August 24, 1955, to the union of Clyde Henry Simpson and Naomi Hamilton Simpson in Danville, Ky. Clyde accepted Christ and was baptized at First Baptist Danville at a young age.
Clyde graduated from Danville High School in 1973. He, along with others, was a proud charter member of the Black Student Union. Upon graduating high school, he attended Kentucky State University. Over the years Clyde was employed at several factory companies in Cincinnati, Ohio. Clyde was an avid book reader and U.K. sports fan. However, his true passion was the love for his family. He loved them dearly and always supported all their endeavors.
Clyde was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Daisey K. Simpson, and Sandra Simpson; and a dear friend Kittie Thomas. Clyde leaves to cherish his memory a daughter, Latoya Higgins, Cincinnati, Ohio, sister, Minnie Frye, Danville, Ky. His grandchildren, Khaliya Curtis, Sr. Airman Melvin (Emma) Curtis IV, Kiajah Curtis, Kamil Curtis, and My’Sahn Smith. Great-grandchildren, Aminata Gaye, Aicha Gaye, and Leilani Curtis. Three nieces, Angela (Thomas) Ledford, Rhonda (Timothy) Grays, and Coletta (Kevin) Brown. His bonus children, Anthony Lynn, Jacqueline Higgins, Cortez Lynn, and Sharnell Higgins; and a host of other relatives and friends.
